DON'T GO THERE IF YOU'RE A TOURIST. When we came in, the owner (old, stocky man) "welcomed" us with two words: "green pass?!". And that's it. We were really hungry and didn't have time to look for something else, so we decided to stay. And that was a huge mistake. There's a very strange vibe at this place. The owner with his angry face and the waitress were standing few meters behind us and observing, because we were the only ones inside at this moment. No music, no radio, just awkward silence. The waitress was polite, but really tense. We ordered minestrone, four different pastas and wine. Then a few other people (italian) came for lunch. The owner was chatting with them and behave normally, but to us the best he could offer was irritated look. My friend got the soup at the same time as the second course. It was really average in taste. Famous tagliatelle bolognese (al ragu) was a mistake. Too salty, very poor in tomato sauce, pasta was overcooked. When we wanted to pay, the owner just came and said the amount to us. No receipt. I had to ask waitress and then she printed it. The whole interior (including bathroom) is begging for renovation. Italian hospitality?...
Read moreWe had our connecting flight in Bologna, so we used our time to taste something in the city. Trattoria Bolognese looked like a nice trattoria, so we have stopped for a coffee and something small to eat. Very nice waitress took care of us. She was kind and dear. We have ordered 2 espresso's and 1 lasagne. Coffee and food came quickly. Coffee was typical Italian espresso, bitter, without acidity but fine :) Lasagne was super tasty, delicious. We have divided 1 portion for the 2 people. Other older man serving us ( probably owner was also kind). Surprise came while paying. I know that this COPERTO thing is popular here in Italy but, lasagne costed 8€, coffee (2 espresso ) -4€ together so bill for 12 € - really small quick "italian snack". But coperto was 5€. I really do not like it this way. I have payed 17€ just to have 2 espresso's and 1 portion of lasagna. When I want to leave tips, I leave them, but automatically? :/ Everything else was fine and I was satisfied but it's just unpleasent surprise paying much more, "just because" coperto. Still thank you for...
Read moreHad dinner at this restaurant. We ordered pasta gnocchi and noodle soup and ragu. However, we didn’t receive the ragu, and had the gnocchi and noodle soup. The noodle soup was very bad, no spice at all, and the gnocchi was decent.
However, our biggest concern is the service. There were three persons, two waiters (a lady and a lad) and an elderly person, probably the owner. The owner’s attitude made me feel as if non Italians are not welcome here. Even while paying, he didn’t even look at us, and bluntly was just looking at his card machine. The waitress tried to comfort us, but the owner’s attitude was really rude. When he was going around asking everyone how’s the food, he didn’t even bother to come to our table. I understand that such courtesy is not something we should expect, but such racist attitude towards customers is intolerable.
Won’t...
