If I could go back in time I would eat all my meals here for our stay in bologna. First we had tortellini in broth and in cream which was amazing. It left us craving more of their delicious pasta. We continued with their gnocchi with Gorgonzola and walnuts, which is like a perfectly cooked aldante “pillow like” pasta that melts in your mouth. Still, we craved more of this wonderful food. We went for the lasagna to fully knock us out, which it quickly did. Biking home in a comatose state we decided to come back as soon as possible which we did.
Round two. While I was deeply in love and longing for their beautiful, delicious gnocchi yet again I decided to be adventurous and try something new. I ordered their tortelloni with cream and mushrooms. For seconds we had shin which was tender and juicy. While I still dream of the gnocchi, I also loved the tortelloni and can highly recommend everything mentioned in this review that da Vito has to offer.
My absolute favorite was gnocchi and tortellini with cream was a strong second choice.
The staff was wonderful, very kind and pleasant. Wine was also very good.
I recommend making a reservation beforehand.
This is a hidden gem outside of the center which will not disappoint. Almost everyone was local.
I was hesitant to write this review because I wouldn’t want to ruin this wonderful restaurant and help turning into a tourist destination, but I felt it would be unfair to keep this...
Read moreWe were recommended this place by a local and wow, it did not disappoint. We were the only non locals turning up at 10pm for dinner on a Friday and there was only 1 table remaining for us to take (that popular). Technically closed at 12pm but nobody rushed to kick us or anyone else out. We were one of the first to leave at that time. The place visually is nothing to look at at all, in fact there is so much going on I didn't know where to look, but this is 100% the type of place you want to go eat at. The lasagne was the best lasagne I have ever had and was absolutely enough as a stand alone dish portion wise with no 2nd course needed. Prices are so reasonable too. We tried to return the next day at 8pm but they were fully booked that day (highly recommend booking a table especially on a weekend). Don't miss out on...
Read moreGreat food at a reasonable price. Cozy atmosphere and mostly locals. One of the best restaurants we’ve to in Bologna for authentic food. A no frills restaurant with a really simple menu that actually delivers.
UPDATE: we went again. It is the best restaurant we could find in bologna and we went to about 20 different spots during our stay, many of which were out of town and were apparently very good local spots. We tried different dishes each time and were always pleasantly surprised each time. Heres what we had in the order of absolute best to best.
