A quiet dinner in Bologna. 💕
Took advantage of us not having the dogs for the weekend by booking a special dinner.
I’d originally hoped for @ahime_bologna , a restaurant with a Green Michelin Star and Bib Gourmand — but it was fully booked.
As luck would have it, that led us to an unexpected gem.
Uno Di Questi Giorni (One of These Days) is a discreet, beautifully understated spot on Via Santo Stefano. Blink and you’ll miss it: no sign, just a small window, a doorbell, and their name spelled out using an old-school label maker.
Once you ring, a staff member welcomes you in and confirms your reservation before leading you to the dining room.
The space is quietly elegant — wood, stone, clean lines. Tables are bare wood with beige linens, cutlery resting on small gray marble slabs (Frans loved that clever detail). The water glasses were so perfectly shaped I had to check the brand.
The menu is hyper-seasonal, built around what’s best in the region.
We started with smoked butter, a bread basket, and focaccia with olive oil and flaky salt. Antipasto was lamb tartare with fig and garlic sauce — delicate, tender, and beautifully balanced.
We had 2 secondi:
Fennel and pine nuts in coconut milk and saffron: It had the texture of risotto without a grain of rice — the fennel and pine nuts mimicking the bite perfectly. The saffron sang through the coconut milk, making it rich but not heavy. An unexpected standout.
We also tried the potato, corn, and popcorn — thinly sliced potatoes with a silky corn purée, topped with caramel popcorn. It’s reminiscent of a potato gratin, but lighter and more considered. The popcorn adds a playful crunch that cuts through the creaminess beautifully.
For mains, the pork tandoori with dandelion kimchi and pork jus was a standout. The pork was perfectly cooked, with tandoori spices balanced and restrained. The kimchi came two ways: a wet version underneath and a dehydrated crisp on top. The ultimate bite? Pork, a spoon of jus, and both kinds of kimchi. The dried kimchi, in particular, intensified the flavours and added great texture.
Dessert was a coconut soufflé with strawberry salad, which fell a little flat. The strawberries were underwhelming — slightly sour and underripe. A quick fix would’ve been compressing them with sugar and lemon zest rather than a simple powdered sugar marinade. The soufflé itself was undercooked due to an oven issue, arriving after 43 minutes instead of the promised 25. That said, credit to the team for addressing it gracefully and removing it from our bill.
Overall a great experience! Highly recommended!

Read moreFriendly staff, modern decor, and AMAZING food. We had the 7 course tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The experience started off with Gian Marco (the owner and manager) being very helpful and friendly via WhatsApp with our reservation. When we arrived, the restaurant had just opened but the team was ready to go. A wide range of selections meant doing the chef's tasting menu was the better way to go. Starting from the oyster which was uniquely prepared with lard and a house-made soda was savory but refreshing. The beef HEART carpaccio was quite a surprise. The texture was interesting in that it was chewy but not tough. The flavors worked wonderfully with a lightly flavored kimchee. The asparagus dish was a bit too "green-y and bean-y" to our liking but was still a flavorful dish. Right after, the cuttle fish liver and escargot was definitely something we haven't tried before but the flavors worked extremely well. Briney but also rich with the escargot (we're assuming) cooked in butter. The waiter suggested a glass of red that paired extremely well with this dish and cut away the brininess. Finally, the pigeon cooked over the open fire was a great way to finish the meal. Slightly charred on the outside (while LOOKED slightly dry) masked a really juicy and tender meat. The pigeon was cooked to perfection! Overall, a must try if you are in Bologna. While different than the traditional Italian and Bolognese cuisine, it was nice to experience an unique style and a break from the heavier and more...
Read moreThis restaurant is a rare one due to its way of serving food, which is through a tasting menu. The food is really different where you can find it around in Bologna, or maybe anywhere. All of the food was interesting and had very different tastes. They were good, but not amazing because of the “combinations” of the food was not being really a good match (for me at least). The place has really low light, which I don’t really liked. But it has a nice atmosphere too. The staff was incredibly helpful and had explained us the menu greatly. The menu has 2 different taste courses and also you can choose to order just a few of them. I would recommend this place if you are after a different night...
