Osteria Enrico VIII al Pintú dal 1908 — Restaurant in Brescia

One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. The wait for everyone in the restaurant was minimum 45 minutes, for appetizers. We had to wait over an hour for our meal, which was served cold, unseasoned and very small portions. The staff was very nice, but they were unable to provide the waiting time and brushed off all the unhappy clients multiple times with no explanation what caused the delays. Longer waiting time for main courses wouldn’t be a problem, but being served appetizers, that are already ready, such as a meat platter, an hour after ordering, was quite frustrating. Definitely do not recommend this place, especially considering the prices weren’t lower in comparison to other nearby...

Tratti in inganno dalle recensioni positive (che forse si riferivano alla gestione precedente?) abbiamo prenotato per un pranzo domenicale in questo posto. Accoglienza discreta ma dopo quindici minuti ancora non era stato portato il menù. Scegliamo un tagliere misto di formaggi e salumi e due tagliatelle, una ai funghi e una ai gamberi e calamari. Sia i salumi che l'unico formaggio presente nel tagliere erano di qualità veramente bassa, tagliati spessi e dal sapore quasi identico l'uno con l'altro. Eravamo quasi alla fine del tagliere e ancora non era stato portato il bere e nemmeno il pane. Al nostro sollecito ci è stato portato un pane dolce con uvetta (???)e la bottiglia d'acqua, per il vino che avevamo ordinato abbiano dovuto nuovamente sollecitare. Ma il peggio doveva ancora venire!!! I due piatti di tagliatelle sono stati portati pressoché freddi, la pasta era dura e senza sale e il condimento completamente "scollegato" dal resto del piatto e sembrava che fossero stati riscaldati al microonde. Considerando il prezzo di 15 euro per il piatto di tagliatelle con gamberi e calamari ci saremmo aspettati un piatto di un certo livello e non certamente una pietanza IMMANGIABILE. Abbiamo fatto presente la cosa alla cameriera che si è dimostrata a suo modo dispiaciuta ma nessuno ha provato in alcun modo a risollevare la situazione. Non potevamo spendere in modo peggiori quei 55 euro e non è stato nemmeno offerto un minimo di sconto sebbene avessimo lasciato i primi piatti...

I was initially hesitant to visit after reading some of the negative reviews, but I’m glad I gave it a chance. The service was attentive, and the food was genuinely delicious. I had the Casoncelli, a traditional Brescian pasta, and it was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I’m not Brescian myself, so I can’t speak to authenticity, but everything I tried was excellent.
