Smeraldo — Restaurant in Brescia

3min walk from B&B Brescia hotel where we're staying. Server was friendly & attentive to us throughout & gave us recommendations & additional stuff like spicy oil for our pizza & fish.

We ordered a sea breem that was nicely steamed & served in a kinda soup made up of butter, olive oil & tomatoes. It was served with carrots & some red & yellow peppers if I remember correctly. It was nice - a light seasoning to the fish but the bone-removal process was quite a chore 😅

We also had a salami + salted fish (I think) pizza that was huge as we requested for thin crust so the pizza was more spread out. The olives & salted fish bits were too salty in my opinion. I had to take them out as their salty taste overwhelmed the whole bite. The edges of about ⅓ of the pizza was totally burnt so we also removed that.

Overall a nice & affordable eatery. Do note that there's a cover charge of €1.50/person &...

When we try to enter he told us that : "Usually we ask to enter" That ironic moustache face he had ... you do not talk like that in a person and a customer you just met ,this is very unprofessional ... also no one was at the entrance.

Our meal too comes after a group of people that came after us . They were locals maybe thats why.

If you are a tourist in Italy you will suffer from harassment sadly.. Menu is never translate in english for tourists ,many locals also they try to avoid speaking it in many...

Pizza ma non solo.... Parto dalla pizza dicendo che è fra le pizze più buone che ho mangiato, sicuramente la migliore di Brescia e Provincia. La pasta, volendo anche integrale è gustosa, ingredienti di qualità e la varietà è elevata, leggendo il menù verrebbe voglia di provarle tutte. Pizza a metro da urlo!!! Passo ora al ristorante, vero punto di forza dello Smeraldo in quanto offre menù di lavoro ad un prezzo a dir poco basso con la possibilità di ampia scelta di primi e secondi piatti ogni giorno diversi. Cenare o pranzare alla carte è uno spasso, consiglio gli scialiatelli ai frutti di mare come primo di mare e di terra i paccheri melanzane e salsiccia, la domenica a pranzo spesso ci sono le lasagne cucinate in modo sublime. Passando ai secondi piatti ottima la frittura di pesce leggera e croccante, calamari alla griglia e coda di rospo, per quanto riguarda la carne il roast beef lo trovo eccezionale. Ottima la lista dei vini. Il locale ha 2 sale, il servizio sia da parte del titolare che dei 2 camerieri è sempre cortese e veloce, affidatevi anche a loro per la scelta del giorno. Parlando di rapporto qualità prezzo penso sia il locale col rapporto migliore che abbia mai trovato in Italia, si spende poco si mangia bene e con qualità. Smeraldo n 1, continuate cosi....
