We did not eat here, so I cannot rate the food or anything of that sort. However we had the worst experience of customer service and rudeness so far in our stay in Italy.
We were very hungry and my wife spotted the place and wanted to sit at the tables next to the canal for a good view. The staff for some reason were not very happy about us wanting to wait for a table (?) But we waited anyways.
While my wife stood I went to use the restroom which was a little busy. It took me maybe 15 minutes to finish and then we got a table by the canal and sat down.
The menu looked absolutely horrendous. They had everything in it and I think they googled the images and they put them in the menu. We were clearly disappointed and we decided to leave.
I told the (rude) waitress that we decided not to eat and we will go. She was very upset that I used their bathroom, sat on their table and i’m not going to pay for it. She even accused me of going to the restaurant just to use their bathroom as if they had the only bathroom in all of Venice.
Long story short, she demanded €2 for their troubles and since I want no problems I agreed to pay. I did not have cash with me so I asked for a card payment and she refused (?) She brought her boss, who honestly was a chill guy and he looked fed up with her shenanigans. The old guy let me pay by card and we walked out.
I hope the store owner is reading this. Your place has the worst reviews on google. Treat your customers better or...
Read moreWe wouldn't have eaten here had we known it was going to be so expensive. There is a gigantic sign on the outside of the Cafe with prices for pizzas, meals etc and there is a smaller sign on the right of the entrance with prices for drinks/desserts. We only saw this sign after we paid which showed different prices for standup and sit down. Example. €3.50 for Tea stand-up. €6.50 for tea Sit down. The smaller sign should be outside beside the bigger sign for equal transparency as the majority of customers eat drinks/desserts I assume than pizza etc as it is a Cafe, not a restaurant. I felt the staff were just ok and could have been a lot friendly especially considering the price. The place was clean in fairness including the toilets and we did enjoy a good rest here with our 3 kids who enjoyed their donuts and soft drinks. The cappuccino and tea were also good. 2x almond desserts were average. It was beside Marks Square, probably the biggest tourist attraction in Venice but still well over priced for what you got. Another downside is that they take Cash Only which is very disappointing esp that our bill came to €59.60 which one would expect to pay for by card also. For that price we got 3 x soft drinks, 2 x Teas, 3 Donuts, 2 small almond tarts and...
Read moreSEATING FEE 2 EUROS PER PERSON.
Terrible experience. We stopped by for a quick bite and were immediately met with rudeness by the lady behind the counter. We sat down and ended up only ordering food for one person, since the food on the menu did not look appetizing and actually turned out to be stock photos, as we saw the exact same pictures at another restaurant a few blocks away. When the waiter came by to take our orders and found that only one of us was ordering, he rolled his eyes at us. The mixed salad was mediocre and overpriced for some lettuce, tomatoes, and corn. There are also flies and mosquitos in the restaurant, which we didn’t see at any other food places nearby, and there was only one other table of people there, which should’ve been our cue to leave. The worst part is that we were charged a 2 euro seating fee PER PERSON, even though not all of us ate there. This fee was NOT advertised to us beforehand, and in fact we have not encountered this sort of fee anywhere in Italy or the rest of the world. This restaurant was nothing but rude to us, and I would give them 0...
