I do not like to leave negative reviews, however, in this case, it is necessary. We arrived in the evening. The man at the desk, seemed overwhelmed. The lights went out. I held my flashlight from my phone so he could see. He did NOT even say thank you. I brushed it off. Figured he had a bad night. |The room was so hot. We had no control over the heat. We opened the windows, that cooled the room, but the mosquitos ate us alive every night. |The shower temperature fluctuated from ice cold, to scalding hot. I grabbed the emergency string by mistake when I was trying to get the water from running on me. Dangerously hot. The staff acted like it was my fault. I promptly told the man, you need a regulator on it so that doesn't happen. |The bed was hard. It was a very old mattress it seemed. The side sloped so you felt like you were going to fall out of it. |The front desk staff, they were not very friendly. I had an emergency with my son, who is a brittle diabetic. The man at the desk treated us like we were an annoyance. He treated us like we were lower class. Quite disappointing the lack of empathy. My son has gone in to a coma twice because of sugar issues. He is a very brittle diabetic and he could die from it. |The night we spent at the hospital, it was late when we returned. We just wanted to go to sleep. I get in the room, one of three we rented, and the Hard Rock Cafe had a DJ blaring music outside until after 3am! We couldn't close the windows because it was so blessed hot in the room when you did! |I try to always find the positives in every situation. Unfortunately, there weren't any but the housekeeper. She was a gem. She had cleaned our room already, when my children arrived their rooms were not ready yet. My grand daughter showered and we needed more towels. When we returned to the room, she had cleaned it all over again. I really hope they treat her right because she was one of the only smiling faces we seen in that hotel then entire 4 nights we...
Read moreI struggle to understand how this hotel qualifies as a four-star establishment.
We attempted to rest at 1:30 PM, which is typically the hottest part of the day in the city. Rest is essential when traveling throughout Italy, and unfortunately, that was when we were met with loud construction noise, including jackhammering that shook our room. When we brought our concerns to the staff, we were informed that no alternative rooms were available, and we would have to endure the noise. It was perplexing that the staff acted as though the construction was unplanned and out of their control, when in reality, construction work is typically scheduled in advance. This lack of responsibility on their part contributed to our disappointment.
The construction continued until 5 PM, and the next morning, work began just before 8 AM, leaving us with very little opportunity to rest. We received no prior notification about the construction from either Expedia or the hotel. Had we known about this situation before our arrival, we would have chosen a different location. The absence of transparency regarding the construction posed a significant risk to our safety, especially considering that adequate sleep is crucial for driving throughout the country.
Additionally, the hotel facilities were not maintained and were quite outdated, which further detracted from our experience. Breakfast was disorganized, with many options unavailable, and I noticed several guests leaving before even sitting down, clearly frustrated by the chaos. Overall, given the price of the room, I would recommend considering other accommodations for a more...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience at this hotel. We stayed there 3 nights April, the day that we were checking out we left our bags in our room to go get a quick breakfast included downstairs before departing to the airport; when we got back to our room, we noticed the cleaning cart stationed right in front of our locked room, when we entered the room, we found our bags out of place and opened; we were shocked, immediately we reviewed our bags, and notice our money and my passport missing. that was devastating! we immediately went back downstairs to tell the front desk what happened, however, they showed a careless attitude. It was the first and most horrible experience I ever had while traveling. This caused us a lot of further problems, because I could not fly due to my missing passport. These people at the Cavalletto are dishonest. Terrible!... In regards the accommodations, The hotel was very noisy, and the room was not properly clean, I had to ask them to clean it, and I actually called the company where I made the reservation to cancel this hotel and transfer me to another one in the area, however, they said the money was not refundable, so we manage to stay there, only to have this horrible experience. My advise... there are other hotels near by more convenient, and not as noisy; and if you still prefer to stay at the Cavaletto, be sure it is at your own risk! Oh! and do not request airport shuttle, it is overly priced, they might charge you from 120.00 to 150 Euros. Instead, go to the water taxi called Alilaguna that is walking distance on the main canal; the ticket to the airport cost...
