This restaurant offered prix fixe dinner menu of fine dining & it was definitely pricey. There were three of us in our group & we came here after sightseeing, so, we were in shorts. The other diners were in pants & dresses but not overly dressed up. The uncouth Americans. The staff was professional & discreetly polite though I'm sure they wished we were dressed up a bit more. We got there early for our reservation which was at 7:30 PM and they couldn't seat us as the staff was preparing to open. We went to a nearby cafe for some glasses of wine. In hindsight, I would recommend making reservations about 8:30 or 9:00 PM and settle into drinks & dinner for the night. The menu focused on seafood - fish, prawns (we ordered second helping), calamari - and everything was super-fresh & tasty. The servings were small (almost tasting size), so, don't expect large portions of pasta. We did have to make up some of our appetites with delicious selections from the freshly baked bread basket. Two desserts were included. I'm not generally a fan of creamy desserts - they were just alright for me. They did go down well with the espresso though. Read moreWe were recommended by a local to come here for a special dinner, to the extent they even called ahead of time to reserve us a slot there same day. Upon arrival we were greeted by Daniella who throughout the evening was nothing but pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. Marino himself was a warm and friendly host who had a clear passion for the food and drink he served.
The food itself was some of the best seafood we have ever had. The tuna tartare and fish carpaccio were sublime, the former being served with fresh truffle that added a whole new depth of flavour. The mains, being the tuna tagliatelle and the red bream, were fantastic. We also had a cheese board, their take on tiramisu and a bottle of local wine.
For those looking for a stand out restaurant in Cagliari for a special occasion, look no further than here. Thank you again Marino...
Read moreI’ve eaten almost all over the world, and this restaurant ranks as one of the best! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff take the time to explain and guide you through the menu, so any questions are answered with care. The amuse-bouche was spectacular, and I also enjoyed a delicious limoncello. I tried the sabayone, which usually comes with fruit, but since I live outside Italy, I always look for a great sabayone and requested it plain—and it was absolutely spectacular. The atmosphere is sophisticated and elegant, even on a day when it was a bit warm. If you’re in Cagliari, this restaurant is a must-visit. The only “negative” is that there’s no private parking, but it doesn’t affect the...
