La Piccola Caffetteria — Restaurant in Cagliari

Tried their steak because it was pretty cheap for a t-bone for €29 but boy was that a mistake. We ordered it medium and it came completely rare and unseasoned, it was bad. BUT the waitress reccomend their Culurgiones (sardinian pasta) and it was the best Culurgiones I've had in the city, probably because their version are slightly chewier and had no mint on it (the traditional ones came with mint and I am not a big fan of that). Their bread is delicious but didn't try their pastries. They also make good Aperol Spritz and their digital menu offers menu in English so that is very helpful, price is okay and I could easily give 5 stars for their Culurgiones and their pretty cafe, but the steak was so bad and their caprese was very mid so I have to knock it...

This Caffeteria is located in a side street of the City Center. Due to the good ratings we gave it a try. Inside it is looking nice. You will feel well although the chairs are not comfortable and the table was shaky. We have ordered Cappucino, Espresso and a piece of Coconut Cheese Cake. The Cappucino was almost cold and containing about 70% of milk foam. The taste of the cake was below average. The Service was not attentive at all although there was enough staff. We needed to pay the bill at the Cashpoint. The bill was not presented before paying. After paying we have got the receipt and till now we don't understand the bill and calculation. Had an evening meal here and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and service here. There’s a good selection of food and drink here, very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in Cagliari.

The restaurant is moulded into a cave which is really cool on the inside, we did sit outside as it was a pleasant evening. I ordered a carbonara and my partner had the tomato and pesto spaghetti.

Portion size of the food was perfect, not too much or too little, we also opted for a cheesecake dessert, there’s so many to choose from, we also had a rather special caffe latte too!
