Clann — Restaurant in Castiglione della Pescaia

Exceptional! There are many local restaurants with good reviews here which are OK, no more (who knows who the reviewers are?). This is a real jewel, and I'm very difficult to please. It's in the bustling centre of town, in a great location, pedestrian only. There are also a few tables outside. The staff are young and really knowledgeable. The ingredients are top class; only the freshest and best. We had a series of raw fish dishes with excellent accompanying ingredients and grilled vegetables which were a picture, as well as being very tasty. It's the sort of place that you can let them choose for you, and you'll be thrilled by the result. I might suggest some lighter fruit-based desserts, given how much one eats to start with (!), but otherwise couldn't fault Clann. They also have an interesting and eclectic wine list (which might benefit from a few more Tuscan offerings, but now I'm being really picky). This restaurant is worthy of a busy city, let alone this lovely seaside town....

This is fish restuarant which was very good. Even with five tables outside it can only server 35 people. We both had the mixed fish served in a large pan which was excellent. Their five different wines by the glass none of them from Italy which was a surprise. Today was our third visit here for dinner which was excellent. We had Amberjack for two with potatoes and vegetables which were roasted.

September 2025 We had dinner here twice and last night was particularly good where we had monk fish which was cooked perfectly with local vegetables. We will certainly come back next year. Because it is very small you will normally need a reservation. Consider arriving at 7pm to...

From the beginning when we were greeted, we missed the friendliness and cordiality that we are used to in most Italian restaurants. Local guests were greeted with handshake and a smile, we felt like mere tourists. (Difficult to understand really when you consider how much tip local Italian guests leaves and how much many tourists in restaurants of this class.) Service was okay if slow. Food quality was good, taste experience ok, nothing exciting, no wow, one dish rather bland. We cannot understand the hype...
