Gasparino — Restaurant in Catania

You’ve been warned! We went here for a couple of drinks before dinner. We had a small bottle of beer and 1 aperol spritzer which tasted like it had gone off plus an ok glass of white wine. I was presented with the bill which was 24€ which is expensive in Catania. I’ve just found out they charged me 34€ 👀🤬 Apparently it is a regular occurrence that they help themselves to 10€ on top of the bill (see other reviews). Food ok but small portions. Antipasti ridiculously small. Service lol. Our waiter spoke only italiano, some other waiter tried to help us but still. We were the only tourists there so Jesus - send to us the eng speaker. Also - we receieved Fries as antipasti, we got it after our meal (after we asked again about it) and we were charged twice for it lol. I do not recomend. and "big" beer charged twice price as small one - the same...

I stopped here for an evening drink. There were only locals having fun, no tourists. I had a great gin&tonic. They have like million kinds of gin to choose from and indeed they let me smell a couple of bottles to make my choice. Very nice! It is a pity this was my last evening and I could not come back...
