The best pasta I had in Sicily! 😍 We came here one day for lunch because it was close, and the place was full. Mostly Italians, that’s how you know it’s good food. We waited a bit and got a table inside. The food was fenomenal, the taste was amazing and pasta cooked to perfection. We tried different pasta, with vongole and amatricina, but by far the best was paccheri with swordfish !!!! We immediately made reservations for the next night, when we asked for the fish fixed menu. The fish is fresh and tasteful, but the mixed salad with oranges was unbelievable, and something I never had before. It was sweet, salty and a bit bitter at the same time, and it paired perfectly with the seafood. They also served good drinks, I recommend the house white wine and aperol. It’s a family business and the chef went to check on us and if we liked the food. We could barely walk home after so much good food. The prices are the best I saw in Catania and the food amazing, so I can’t recommend this enough. Thank you! 🥹

A very good restaurant with a great lunch menu. For 15€ you can have a very filling lunch, all the dishes we had (spaghetti alla norma, spaghetti al nero di sepria, grigliata di pesce, frittura di paranza) were in generous portions and even ordered alone would satisfy most people. We were there at 1pm and there were a few diners in the restaurant, but it was quiet and pleasant. We were served by a very polite waiter who speaks fluent English and whose personality adds to the great atmosphere of the restaurant. For €20 per person, we were stuffed to the point of overindulgence, although we didn't manage to finish everything due to the limited capacity of our stomachs. A great place to enjoy Sicilian cuisine, all the dishes mentioned above are highly recommended, we will definitely return next time we are in Catania!

L’Oste Pazzo is a gem in Catania! I had a lovely meal there on Saturday and Maximo, the owner, was so attentive and great with me and my boyfriend. I loved everything about the quattro formaggi flavour and I can guarantee that was the best risoto quattro formaggi that I ate! The flavour and the portion was perfect. I really recommend it❤️ And the desert, the typical cannolo from Sicily was perfecto! You can see that each dish was prepared with care and attention to detail. We both finished our whole plates and were so impressed with the quality of the food and the short amount of time it took to receive it. Thanks for a great time, if I'll be back in Catania for sure I will pass by with pleasure to try the rest of the menu and talk more about tattoos ☺️

Amazing food! Amazing price!

We got really lucky getting a table, if we knew how good it was we would have booked. My partner had the spaghetti cuttlefish with black ink and it was delicious, I had the pork cheek penne and it was the best I’ve ever had. The most amazing thing to me was that I don’t usually eat seafood but I’m always happy to try it, my partner had the seafood grill and it was the tastiest thing I’ve had in years. Perfectly cooked and so succulent, it really was amazing!

Now on to the service! The staff were exceptional, very friendly, great English and actually seemed happy to be working there. It really creates an amazing atmosphere when customers are enjoying the food so much and the staff are so happy as well as hardworking and the food comes out fairly quickly and cooked to perfection.

The red wine was chilled which I’ve never really been sure about but it was amazing, it could be because it was a hot night and a cool refreshing drink is more enjoyable but I think it’s just a thing these guys do. Wouldn’t have chosen it before but now I definitely would. They made sure the fan was on next to us which was appreciated and needed on this particular night.

The price… When the bill came I was expecting 50 or 60 for the 2 glasses of wine, Coca Cola (the good, glass bottle type) and 4 dishes of such amazing quality. I was shocked when it didn’t even hit £40. I even left a bigger tip than usual because I was so happy with everything.

Overall with the chilled wine, the great food and amazing staff, this place really left its mark on us even before considering the price. I’ve give this place a go and if you experience what we did, you won’t regret it.

We will be back here again. Thanks for a...

Excellent friendly and attentive service and beautiful restaurant which was very clean, even though it's in one of the roughest places in the city.

Food wise I was pretty happy with my own pasta dish, al dente and a nice fragrant and flavour to the sauce. The downside was that the pork cheek was very tough, this was because it hadn't been cooked down and tenderised enough, which made it quite unpleasant to eat and was a bit under seasoned.

My wife's pasta dish however was not so good, criminally under seasoned, so it just tasted of oil and garlic, the pasta itself was also way, way too firm and again made for an unpleasant texture.

For the price and excellent service mind we did not complain, we're too polite. British 🤣

These dishes could have easily been elevated easily with the pork being cooked until its mouthwatering and tender and this dish could have been brilliant, small details make the biggest difference! The same with my wife's dish, taste the dish before serving, 1/2 extra minutes for the pasta and seasoning generously, would have made this dish stunning. I'm not sure if it was someone different doing the cooking as they appeared to be in and out giving them instructions throughout the process, perhaps this is why these small details were missed.

I hope this feedback is acted upon and it could make these dishes the exceptional, simple dishes they deserve to be. Again pricing was...
