Firstly upon arrival, no one came to take the order. I had to go to the cashier after 15min of waiting where each waiter told us to wait. After ordering the food, we were waiting for roughly an hour, where they told us just to wait. After some time we got fed up and told them we do not want to eat there any longer. The waiters told us that we either pay for the full meal which we had not received yet or that we will be in trouble and that we will not be able to leave the restaurant. What the trouble exactly is was not indicated, but considering we are tourists and do not speak the language, it was very scary to hear such a response from the waiters. After we were forced to pay 74 euros for 3 meals, we asked if we at least could take the food with us. I had the linguine ai ricci, the first one I’d seen on a menu. The pasta servings were very large but also very good. Even if there weren’t tons of anchovies or sea urchins, the flavors permeated the pasta as it should. The husband’s grilled calamari was well done. I felt happy that we had chosen well for our last meal in Sicily. By the time we were leaving, more tables were occupied and a few of them by locals. Very reasonably...
Read moreWonderful establishment! Took my wife on a date night here. Parking was relatively easy for catania on a Saturday and the staff was excellent. They were attentive without being obtrusive and very kind. They spoke very good English and treated us great. Now let me tell you about the food; my ordered the fettuccine alla ricci and it was subtle and delicious (I'm not an urchin fan and I really liked it). I ordered the fiorentino di manzo and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We ordered a cataratto because summer and heat and it paired very well with the meal. I suggest you get the limone tiramisu, it's a knockout. Thank you sikulo, made a wonderful evening...
