The ice cream was ok. But there 2 things that really disappointed me and spoiled the evening: They don’t fill the whole cup with gelato. At least for me and my friend they just put it on the top and left some space without gelato in a cup. So you pay for the air. We came really late, so there was literally no one there. When we ordered gelato and seat outside the guy from this place approached to us and said: “You paid for takeaway, you cannot seat here”. But the point is that I paid for gelato, they never asked me if I want it takeaway or not. They were all exceptional flavours, however the mulberry (gelsi) really stood with a really fresh and vibrant flavour. This gelateria was recommended to us by a local tutor that teaches my son Italian. And in no way did it disappoint. We had time to chat with the staff and they are friendly and very helpful. They also know their flavours intimately and not hesitate to suggest pairings to complement each other, they almost insist on it! Really great experience and this will become a daily visit...
Read moreThis is a nice small cafe in a very close proximity to the old city center of Catania. Located right at the Bellingham piazza, it is very well protected from a street noise and have very good views of the square and the fountain.
Coffee and other drinks are priced from 1 EUR (espresso) up to 3.5 EUR (something fancy). The gelato is fine, yet I've seen bigger scoops. A 3-scoops waffle cone is 3 EUR, which is reasonable for the area.
Apparel spritz was cerulean good. May be we shouldn't go for it at 3pm, yet it was a vacation.
