In the back streets of Catania is this very Sicilian restaurant - hosting mainly to locals They do not open until 730pm no matter if there are a few tourists who are lining up ready to be seated You never eat in Sicily until late so they look at you very strangely when you want to eat at 730pm but it’s very worth the wait Check the menu as their translations are not great - I ordered pesto but they have their pesto with cream (no mention of cream on the menu) The lovely waitress understood when I told her it’s a dietary think ( can’t eat cream) and they made me a lovely pasta dish very simple with tomatoes basil and oil They serve horse here - many people come because this is a traditional restaurant serving very traditional food like horse - one of the only restaurants here still doing it I had the Bruschetta followed by pasta with a big beer - cost was 15 Euros so very good value for money Pasta was perfectly cooked - English of staff not great but I don’t think they have a lot of tourists and certainly more local centric - you could still get message across and all meals coming out looked amazing ! It was highly recommended by the staff at my hotel which was only 2 min walk away

I was in Catania for nearly 5 days and this is the best food I found. The staff is very nice and friendly. It is twice as cheap as other places located in the center. The food there is fantastic - the bread they serve is homemade and it was still warm when they served it to us. Their antipasto buffet is excellent (6 euro/person eat all you want). And the horse meat was great, tried the mixed grilled horse meat and the horse steak Florentina and I was very satisfied. I can't recommend this place enough.

Very traditional restaurant in Catania. You can eat very fresh fish and meat. Location is near Plebiscito road one of the most characteristic in Catania. The staff is very gentle and clean. There is an open cooking (like show cooking) and you can see the chefs preparing the food in front of you. There is a great choice of fresh sea food and meat food. Pricing it's a little bit over the average in Catania but the quality it's incredible. I recommend it.

Almost all of the customers here is Italian, so the prizes are low and the quality is high. It's not a touristic place anyway, you need to know basic Italian to communicate. Horse meat is famous in the whole Street, and this is one of the places who makes it, it was Delicious but twice the meat was wrapped and was completely red from inside. Except for that they have also Delicious desserts...

The food was amazing, we ordered the set of mussels in sauce and two different pasta. White wine as well. The prices are good. What I liked not that much was lard that has to be a bacon and I hoped to have it well fried not like boiled ( it was not boiled, but fried that lightly that felt like boiled). The waiter also was little lost. But the quality of the food is the best!
