In the winding streets of Cefalù, where the stones whisper tales of the past, there lies a gem of a pizzeria that turns meals into memories. It's not just a place to eat; it's a place where the heart of Sicily beats strong. Picture a family, two adults and two kids, sitting under the Sicilian sky, the sun setting and casting a golden hue over the stone streets.
They came upon this place, where the air is thick with the scent of basil and tomatoes, where laughter mingles with the clinking of glasses. They settled in, their table a canvas for the culinary artistry about to unfold. The first act? The Pizza Brontë. A marvel, this pie, with pesto as green as the rolling hills and fresh ham that sings a melody with every bite. The kids, with eyes wide and hands eager, dove into the Margherita, simple yet profound, a symphony of tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
But it was the Satix that danced the wildest tune, adorned with chili threads that added a fiery rhythm, a beat that kept time with the bustling street around them. And what better to accompany such a feast than a bottle of Lavico Duca di Salaparuta, white wine from Etna's volcanic slopes, each sip a volcanic eruption of flavor, crisp and bold, echoing the land's fiery spirit.
The family, their faces aglow with delight and the warmth of the wine, found themselves caught up in the magic of the evening. As they finished their pizzas, espressos arrived, dark and rich, a final note in their symphony of taste. They sipped, savoring the bitterness, a counterpoint to the sweetness of the night.
With hearts and bellies full, they wandered through the ancient streets, their footsteps a part of Cefalù's eternal rhythm. Gelato beckoned, a sweet serenade of flavors, each bite a reminder of the joys of life. The children laughed, their faces smeared with the colors of their chosen scoops, the adults smiling, sharing a moment that would linger long after the gelato melted away.
This pizzeria, in the heart of Cefalù, is not just a place to eat. It's a stage where every meal is a performance, every bite a note in a timeless melody. It's a place where families come together, where the past and present merge, where the flavors of Sicily tell a story as old as the stones themselves.
So if you find yourself in Cefalù, let the streets guide you to this pizzeria. Sit beneath the open sky, let the scents and sounds wash over you, and taste the magic that only Sicily can offer. For here, in this corner of the world, every meal is a song, and every diner a part...
Read moreWe were a bit sceptical going to this pizzeria when we read all the reviews properly (despite its great rating) and we had a very mixed evening. We were the second couple to walk through the door when they opened at 19:00 so the restaurant was thankfully not very busy yet. We ordered a margarita and quarto gusto pizzas. The quarto gusto pizza was really good but my pizza was very Smokey and the dough was slightly underdone (it seemed like the pizza oven wasn’t quite right when they did my pizza). I absolutely loved the tiramisu (it has more of an espresso liqueur taste rather than dunked in espresso taste) and they have some lovely wines and cocktails for reasonable prices. We didn’t have any issue with the service but we saw customers who came in about half an hour after us really battling to get service and waiting an extremely long time for their food. I think this is a great lunch place and has a lovely outdoor area but if you’re coming for dinner you need to be very patient because they get extremely busy and you can easily wait up to 45 minutes for your food. Also just a little tip: to see the menu use the QR code on the table. Would I got for lunch? Probably. Is it the best pizza in Italy? Not...
Read moreI don’t not know how this place has reviews of 4.8!
First the good point - the pizzas were nice, although by the time they got to our table they were cold.
The bad points- the service was appalling, in the row of tables were sat in, of the 6 people (3 different couples) 2 of the couples waited over 45 minutes for (cold) pizza; 1 couple got the wrong food. We ordered wine and sparkling water, this took 35 minutes to arrive. There were so many tables that got given the wrong food, and the average wait for pizza was over 45 minutes. Some people behind where we sat waited so long for their food that they just upped and left after having a drink. I don’t know how they will good when it’s not a Monday night and it’s the...
