The easiest summary could be “it’s Italy, so prepare to be scammed”, but let’s go into details.
First of all, we were coming here each day, but not because we loved it - because it was next to our hotel as well as because there is some bar here. But there are many things which are wrong here. Here are a few: Yesterday we paid 40 EUR for 3 sun lounges. Today - 25 EUR for two. So the more you reserve, the more it costs? This is some weird math. Nothing is included in that sum, not even a towel (that is 10 EUR extra). Before you say “it’s Italy, what did you expect?” I was on Italian beaches which not only had towels included, but a lot of inflatable and other toys. Everyone working here is very unhappy and unfriendly. No matter how much you pay. I guess they just hate it in here, but either can’t do anything else. Or don’t know that there are other jobs on the island. My God those massage ladies and dudes selling cheap junk are annoying. One guy with sunglasses and some bracelets put his stuff next to us after hearing “no” for 20-30 times. And kept offering these “products”. Had to raise a voice. And everyone has a memory of a fish - keep coming back 5 minutes later offering the same junk again. I paid to be here - can someone please keep these people away from people trying to enjoy their time? Drinks are not great. Amount of ice coffee is tiny, cocktails are not tasty etc. Drinkable, but they don’t take tour breath away.
But it’s not all negative. The food here is actually quite OK for such a place. Better than some significantly higher rated restaurants nearby.
All in all, it’s better than being on the sand 20 meters away, with no place to out your drinks. And probably with the same annoying massage and junk sellers...
Read moreWe spend almost a week at this Lido, here is my summary.
What I liked: *Beautiful sandy beach with amazing view of Cefalu. *Food was good and prices reasonable (especially the beach bar). *Most employees were friendly but some seemed a bit rude but I believe it’s mainly due to lack of English speaking knowledge.
What could improve: *Way too many persistent beach vendors! Every 5-10min you have actively say no to them. *25-35€ per day (weekends 30-40€) for two persons (one umbrella and two sun beds). Lidos a bit further away charges “only” 15€ per day. *Not possible to reserve and pay for a umbrella in advance. Had to wait in a rather long queue every day. Feels as this easily could be digitalised, but maybe I am missing something. *Very few showers and you have to pay with 20 cent coins which was quite irritating when you pay 30€ to be...
Read more40 euros for 2 people to rent 2 sunbeds and one umbrella in the 4th row. No lockers to put your stuff in, the shower is PAID, yes, it's only 20 cents but why be so greedy when people already spend so much? The girl selling tickets has a terrible attitude. The wristbands are the ones you get at a concert and you have to swim with them, which is kind of unpleasant. The only good thing about this place is the beach, the water was amazing but that's not really their doing. But they managed to make that worse too, by putting a catamaran right in front and having a mossy wire you had to pick up and go under every time you entered the water. I am comparing this to Mondello Beach, where prices are cheaper, you get all the amenities including no price separation by rows, the staff is friendly, wristbands are rubber and the water is...
