This place is an absolute standout—possibly the best restaurant in Cala Gonone and certainly one of the most memorable meals we had in Sardinia.

Run by a local fisherman’s family, Il Pescatore offers both authentic charm and top-notch seafood. The service is warm and attentive; you immediately feel like a welcome guest rather than just another tourist.

We had the pasta with lobster (lobsters are made alive) in tomato sauce, and it was simply fantastic—perfectly cooked pasta, sweet tender lobster, and a rich sauce full of flavor. The spaghetti alle vongole (cooked in sea water!) was, without exaggeration, among the best in Sardinia—briny, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The grilled jumbo shrimp, shrimp and lobster combo, and oysters were all incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared.

The wine list is rich and thoughtful, with excellent regional options to complement the seafood.

The setting is a dream—overlooking the sea, with a spectacular view that adds magic to the whole experience. It’s the kind of place that feels underrated, perhaps because it’s so unassuming, but it deserves far more recognition.

📝 Tip: Reservations are a must. We waited about 30 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it.

Absolute scam this restaurant. 126 euros for a grill seafood mix plate. Dry and not tasty at all. The service people lost interest because i gave them my honest feedback. He asked me from where I am coming from and was than insulting with my home country by saying that its no surprise and that I would not have any clue about seafood or gastronomy. Shame on me that I did not leave the restaurant at that moment.

He consulted us completely wrong saying he will bring us a mixed plate than we’ve got way too much. The waiter never mentioned he will bring us a whole fish, therefore he also did not inform us about the weight and the price of this fish. Nothing was transparent. We’ve got a random price of 126 euros charged for the grill mix at the end.

The ambitious and motivated waiter in the beginning never showed up again after he full-filled his scam mission.

Please don’t go. Or if you go do not let the waiter (bald guy) take over your order. Order directly from the menu. Or just skip it too high prices for low quality anyway.
