We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Sa Cuchina Piccola Osteria Enoteca on May 28th, 2024, during our trip to Sardinia – and it was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our journey.
The food was absolutely delicious – full of flavor, heart, and tradition. Each dish felt like it had a story, prepared with care from local ingredients sourced from nearby farms. You can taste the freshness and the authenticity in every bite – true homemade Sardinian cuisine.
There is no fixed menu, which for us was a big plus. Instead, you're welcomed like into someone’s home – “this is what we have today, let us make something special for you.” It gives the whole experience a warm, personal touch and ensures everything is freshly made with the best ingredients available that day.
But what truly made our visit unforgettable was the atmosphere. The lovely couple who runs the place welcomed us like family – with warm smiles, friendly conversation, and genuine hospitality that made us feel like we were coming home after a long journey.
Thank you both so much for the heartfelt meal and the wonderful time we spent with you. We will always remember that lunch not just as a delicious meal, but as a beautiful moment shared with...
Read moreThis small but special restaurant is hosted by the molto gentile ma serio Caterina (“We serve fresh traditional Sardinian pastas, meats and cheeses - no fish and no pizzas!”) and her husband, Hugo. We started our meal with a simple house salad but were truly impressed with our hand made Culurgiones pastas (dumplings stuffed with potato, pecorino and mint in a fresh tomato sauce) and our hand made Malloredus pastas (with pork, saffron, fennel and pecorino in a unforgettable tomato ragu). We felt so cared for by Caterina throughout our meal. She was careful to select the best wines to accompany our meal allowing us to taste them before making our choices. Our traditional Sardinian dessert was a delicious house made Seadas filled with lemony pecorino and topped with local honey. Lastly, over friendly conversation with Caterina about food preparation and her cooking classes we were served a local grappa as a degestivi to end the evening. If we had another day in Cala Gonone we would surely have returned for more of their heartfelt Sardinian...
Read moreOne of my best experiences in Sardinia was at this charming little tavern that offers traditional Sardinian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with kindness and warmth. You can’t reserve a table, so make sure to arrive by 18:00.
The hostess speaks English and takes the time to explain the menu thoroughly. There's no rush here; you can relax and enjoy your meal at your own pace. What truly stood out to me was the behavior of the hostess. She is incredibly kind and loves to engage in conversation.
On our first visit, the restaurant was full, but she graciously spoke with us, explaining the situation and answering all our questions with patience. The food is simple, but the high-quality ingredients make it absolutely delicious. They also have the best pane carasau I’ve ever tried.
It feels like they aren’t driven by profit but by the desire to give you the best experience possible. This certainly won’t be my last visit; I plan to return...
