Caffè Dogali — Restaurant in Florence

Good location with outside seating in the shade.

Paper menus not available. As I didn't have a QR code scanner I checked the menu on the website. This menu is incomplete and inaccurate (for example, the roast patatoes on the menu are more like oven-baked fries when served, and when I asked for a modified version of the only burger on the menu, I was asked: "you mean the classic burger?", as if I should have known that the only one on the menu wasn't the classic version).

As for the food itself, I was served a very rare burger that was dripping blood, which happened to be the way I like it but I wasn't asked how it should be cooked and very rare shouldn't be assumed. On the other hand, the schiacciata it came in had been toasted to a crisp, completely ruining that kind of bread. The "roast" potatoes were half uncooked, while the other half tasted like roast or fried potatoes do when you cook them, some are leftover and you reheat them hours later.

Friends tell me that the panini and schiacciate they've had on past visits are really good, but I wouldn't go back for the restaurant side of...

Caffè Dogali holds memories for me that go back to when I was in high school and I was skipping classes to go watch football or other "important" similar activities :)

The place is famous for it's "panini", filled with lots of sauces and cured meats.

It's also a restaurant, and now that I am a "tad" older I get to experience that part of the business more. The menu is quite simple, very Tuscan and quite nicely put together. Moreover they offer a variety of dishes of the day that change from time to time. All is very nicely made, quick service and good prices wrap up the "deal" with them.

Esperienza terribile. Ho pranzato in questo ristorante venerdì scorso. Ho chiesto la gentilezza di cuocere della pastina per mio figlio di 12 mesi (la pastina l'ho fornita io). Mi hanno portato la pastina senza nemmeno un cucchiaino di sugo. Mi hanno fatto pagare 10 euro per questo! Ho chiesto un seggiolone. Il seggiolone non era disponibile. Dunque ho cercato di sistemare mio figlio alla buona tra i tavoli. Ho chiesto la gentilezza di spostarci perché batteva il sole ma mi è stato risposto che no, il passeggino avrebbe ingombrato. Ho quindi fatto mangiare mio figlio collocando il passeggino sul marciapiede, ed io lo imboccavo dando le spalle agli altri commensali. Mi hanno fatto pagare il servizio di 2,50 anche per mio figlio che ha mangiato in queste condizioni e non ha sporcato una stoviglia. Alla fine di ciò, uno potrebbe sperare in un cibo buono. Ed invece le mie polpette di baccalà erano disastrose, come anche il risotto che ha preso il mio amico. Abbiamo chiesto qualche focaccia in più di accompagnamento, ma ci è stato detto che no, non sarebbero bastate. In un posto che fa focacce. Ho raramente avuto esperienze cosi umanamente negative, oltre che dal punto di vista culinario, e mi sento obbligata...
