My boyfriend and I were very excited to come here for dinner but left extremely upset and disappointed. The host wasn't very friendly to us at all and neither was the waiter taking our order. The waitress who gave us the food was kind which is why it's two instead of one. We sat there for 30-40 minutes waiting on our food after we ordered when two tables that had been seated after us, got theirs first. When we finally got the food, it looked good and we thought maybe this will redeem it. It didn't. I got the risotto with prawns and it was wayyyy undercooked. I couldn't even smear it a little bit with my fork which is how you tell it's done. The prawn that was on top was ice cold and the risotto itself was room temperature as if it had been sitting out for a while. If you've ever had a Riceironi, this tasted exactly like it. I could've made it at home for myself $2 instead of the 20€. My partners dish was hot but he got the tortolone with a meat in it and it was way over cooked. So mine was super under cooked and his was way overcooked. He didn't finish his meal which is very rare, and I didn't even eat half of it. The waitress bused our table and gave us the check. Very slow on getting us food, but incredibly fast when it came to taking our money. We were charged 18€, 9€ a person, just for being there, the copero fee, and have NEVER been charged that before. We've been in Italy for almost a week at this point so it's not like this was the first nice restaurant we had gone to. This completely ruined our night and we walked back home hungry and upset. I highly recommend you don't come here and waste your money on terrible food...
Read moreThis restaurant is a must! As Americans on our honeymoon, we noticed often at many restaurants in Italy that eyes would be rolled or the wait to even get water would be extra long. We didn't take it too personally, but here, at Osteria Belguardo we were treated like family!!! We got a great seat (he told us it was the oldest table in the entire place - not sure how true that is but we went with it - We ordered the Bistecca Florentine and it was out of this world!! The waiters were attentive and just so kind to us. I had a "spritzer" from the bar and it was made strong and tasted delicious... let's just say they don't skimp of their drinks! We ate here on our last night which was a bummer because we for sure would have eaten here more than once! If you want to feel like family in a warm, bustling, fun restaurant filled with locals please come here. They deserve it as they have it down - GREAT FOOD, EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE & WONDERFUL DRINKS...
Read moreTERRIBLE Price-Quality relationship. The plates where overpriced even for the Toscana center standars (you can end up paying three time's the worth of any type of food) and the small 'gourmet' portions after you've paid 20 euros for a single dish with no entry or drinks included is insulting. Even a toddler would finish hungry (and no, I'm not American nor obese). Pre-made market food has tasted better than what I had there (Yes I'm talking about that vegetarian "hamburguer" that didn't had the decency to at least come with BREAD). The 22€ risotto came without any meat and lasted 4 spoons. They had us PAY APART for CUTLERY. For how lovely the space, the presentation and the super-nice waiter where we still left feeling robbed. Do not recomend for anyone who wants a fulfilling meal and has less than 30 euros per person to spend in a...
