If you’re not coming here with a guided tour, do yourself a favor and DONT WASTE YOUR TIME at this place!!!
I normally don’t write reviews — especially negative ones — but this place seriously pissed me off.
We stumbled upon this wine window while strolling through Florence and thought it looked charming, so we got in line like everyone else. And we waited over 10 minutes patiently. Just as it was finally our turn, a huge tour group suddenly showed up and completely cut the line.
There was a restaurant staff member standing at the window to manage the line — he saw everything and initially told us we’d be served before the group. But when our turn came, we were pushed away by the group and he turned around and said, “Just one minute,” and then let the entire group — nearly 20 people — order before us.
It was infuriating. There were also an elderly couple behind us who had been waiting longer than the tour group, and they were all ignored too.
This place clearly prioritizes tour groups and treats everyone else like background noise. If you’re not part of a tour, you have no idea how long you’ll be waiting, because apparently rules and fairness mean nothing here. It’s incredibly disrespectful to all the individual visitors who chose to line up properly. Everyone’s time is valuable, and the way this place handles things is unacceptable.
Also — let’s be honest — the wine isn’t anything special. It’s not freshly mixed or crafted; they literally just pour it into a glass and pass it through a window. The whole “wine window” thing is more of a social media gimmick than a quality experience.
Skip it. Save your time and your patience. There are better places in Florence to enjoy a proper glass of wine without being treated like you...
Read moreIt used to be a great place to eat, but with the whole American obsession over the wine window they kinda transformed into a restaurant where locals wouldn't come to eat. We are locals.we ordered 3 plates. Let's start with the cheese plate, which was to share, costed 16 euros and had 6 small pieces of cheese, 2 figs and two sticks of tiny mozzarellas with tomatoes. Check the photo, it was a very small plate compared to pretty much any restaurant in Florence. Cheese was good. The size was tiny, value for money is bad - I give it 3 stars. Then the pork ribs plate, cost 20 euros - the price is what you normally pay for lamb or beef in Florence, but the ribs were good, so I give it 4 starts. And then we had a very sad experience with the tuna plate y 22€. It wasn't fresh, it left a really bad taste in the mouth, both of us tried it and it was really bad. We told the waitress about it, she took away the plate to the kitchen and returned without the plate to tell us that the tuna was fresh instead. Like wtf? It wasn't. But whatever, there was hummus, veggies, potatoes and bread on the plate that she took away and it never returned to the table leaving my friend hungry. We then got out to smoke a cigarette, told the waitress we'll be outside, within a minute they took our glasses and water away, and let others sit at our table. We returned and had to tell them that out table was taken and drinks were gone. Then we went to the counter and paid in full for a Saturday night dinner 30€ per person, where one of us literally had 3 pieces of cheese and a slice of really bad tuna....
Read moreWe came here a few times and we had good drinks. We came back on 23 October and this time it was a disaster. I brought 2 friends who were visiting from abroad as I thought it would be a great way to start the evening but the waiter dropped 3 spritz on their legs. That’s fine, no big deal, it happens, the waiter was so apologetic that my friends weren’t even angry at him. We actually felt bad for him as we thought he might get into trouble with his manager. So right after this they promptly brought us 3 more spritz and an extra one. We thought that it was a weird gesture since it’s not really easy sharing this extra spritz between 4 of us but never mind. When we went to pay, the manager in charge, who also assisted in cleaning up the mess but never apologized once, got us the bill and we noticed that we didn’t get a discount for the trouble caused. I reminded her what happened and she said that she thought the extra spritz would have been enough. We looked at her unimpressed. It’s Saturday evening and you drench 2 guys who are about to go out with 3 full glass of cocktails and that’s all you are offering as an apology? When she saw we were not having it, she took 5€ off the bill and said that it was all she could do. The place is packed and your spritz cost you less than 0.50€ to make and that’s all you can do? That’s your loss because in this case we won’t...
