On our last night in Florence, we decided we had to try a florentine steak at least once before we left. After a quick google search in our area, we saw a number of great reviews for Ristorante Lo Stravagante. We decided to pop in around 19:00 on a Saturday. At first we were the only patrons, but soon we were joined by a number of locals. The owner, who cooked and served the meal on his own, was so kind and warm in his welcome to us as he explained the menu. We had two delicious pasta dishes followed by the biggest steak I have ever eaten (could easily be shared by three people even!). Everything was well cooked and seasoned. We also enjoyed a nice Chianti with our meal. I was only sad that I was much too full to enjoy what looked to be amazing desserts too. If you are in the area (or if you are looking for a nice break from the crowds in the city center), so consider stopping in for a relaxed and delicious dinner. Molto bene!

We ate at this cute little restaurant on a whim when walking by from our apartment just up the street. Everything was delicious! I’ve been wanting to try the Florentine steak - and this did not disappoint. The owner spoke little English, and I can speak very little Italian - but we made it work. We were surprised to be the only people there between 7-8pm, but then that meant we had incredible service. The spaghetti with pomodoro sauce was honestly one of the best tomato sauce dishes we have had in Italy so far. It was simple, but tasty. That giant steak (with essentially a small steak leftover to take home), pasta, and the antipasto was only €80 (granted that is the most we have spent on a meal here, but in the US, that meal may have been closer to $60-80 each). Will go back for sure!

We had an absolutely amazing dinner here for our honeymoon. It was a Sunday evening and we were the only people in the restaurant. Our host was friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful meal. We ordered a steak fiorentina and as well as the steak, we were also given a starter each, two sides and limoncello. Everything was beautifully cooked and we had leftovers to take away. We also enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine, the creme brulee, and an excellent coffee. All in all, the best meal we've had in Italy

Excellent ! The waiter (owner) recommend a special of the day ( fettucini with local fresh mushroom). We asked for parmesan cheese and he told us not to put anything in the pasta dish. We should enjoy the dish as the Chef had prepared. He was right and it was the best pasta dish we ever. The mushroom tastes delicious and fresh and the pasta is infused with fresh smell of the mushroom. He also recpmmend the house made cheese Service is excellent and honesty rank top in this restaurant. They do not try to take advantage...
