An excellent and interesting variety of Chinese/Asian vegetarian meals on the menu, but sadly most had been crossed off. Our experience was one of very slow service, confusion over the order, long time to bring the food, some irritated and loud, drunken customers and a lack of rice, which they had run out of. Two very young people were trying desperately to manage the situation in the front end of the restaurant, but they looked overwhelmed and exhausted, and were not attentive so I had to go to the counter four times to ask for things. The food we eventually received was very tasty; fried aubergine in a savoury sauce and stir fried vegetables and tofu in a secret sauce. The savoury rice we ordered was replaced by boiled noodles. I think our experience may not have been typical, reading other customer reviews, just...
Read moreThe food is decent, and in Florence there isn't a whole lot like it, and that's the best thing about the restaurant. The big chinese woman is so rude, the first time we visited, she was rude but this time she was awful. At the end of our meal I asked about a sauce she said she didn't know and walked away mid conversation so I asked again, she said she didn't know, so I asked how long she had worked there and again she said she didn't know as she just wanted to give a stock answer instead of being helpful. So I couldn't help but ask "you don't know how long you've worked here for" then she said we were rude and asked us to leave after we had paid.
It's a shame, my girlfriend is vegan and we were going to have her birthday with 30 other people there but now we will find...
Read moreWe have been more than pleased by our experience in this restaurant. The range of choices in the menu is really rich, going from authentic dishes from all around China to original designs of vegan mock-meat dishes (for example, the mock-duck mimics the consistency of duck skin by using - I think - a variety of stretched tofu wrapping mashed red beans). 15 euros are enough to take four dishes, largely enough to share for two people; so it is at least half the price of any Italian restaurant in the vicinity! The dishes taste every bit as good as what you can find in authentic dishes in China. I would particularly recommend the bun (baozi) of sour vegetables at 1€/piece. For some (but not all) spicy dishes, it is possible to ask the chef to lower the spiciness if you are...
