I am a tour guide from the largest tour operator in Europe (Europamundo). My name is Manu Martin (I am not hidding up). I would like to estate I have worked as a waiter several times in my younguest times, as well as worked in two kitchens too as a cook. My vision and coments below are based from a professional point of view and not just as a disliked customer.
I have been in Florence hundreds of times visiting many restaurants in the city. My experience today has been the worst never ever in the gastronomy Tuscany's capital leading a group of 53 persons, followed by another 2 groups overating 150 customers. Reception to my group was fine by the manager but awfully serviced by two unacknowledged waiters for the first 2 groups (+100 people) with no working desire and empathy to the clients, upto to the point not offering drinks, just throwing food on the table in shared traies and unserved plates, asking to two customers to move to another unjoined places in two different tables instead of bringing a small try for two people avoiding discussion and providing customers desire. About the food it is really difficult to find a worst pasta plate in Italy as a first plate. I did not see main course and dessert because I decided to stand out in the street awaiting for this to end. After insisting ordering drinks out of settled menu, on the expense of customers individually, they attempted to serve some drinks with a clear behaviour in not getting additional task wether to serve and later on to proceed with bill and payment, out of some customers were let down without receiving the ordered drinks. I have tried to interfere constructively in order to help but I was literally kicked out rudely by these two apparent waiters with no interest in their job and doing the minimum effort. Therefore I said this to the responsable but no action at all was taken, as well as this underground salon was abandoned with no supervision at all by responsables letting both to do at their lazy convenance. When ordering my food after this episode to a lady who seemed to be another responsable in the salon (paid the bill to her) same manners and rudely let me down going away slightly shouting to me saying I better talk to her husband to order a simple steak on the grill, saying that if I want to order out of that awful pasta I have to pay (my meal is included with group of 53 customers). I presume these two responsables are the married owners. I strongly not recommend this place neither for groups or individuals. To Groups and Tour operators/agencies all over the world; BRINGING IN CUSTOMERS AND TOURIST TO THIS RESTAURANT IS OUT OF ANY TOURISM ETHIC AND YOU WILL RECEIVE CLAIMS AS I HAVE RECEIVED THEM!!! OTHERWISE THEY CHANGE THEIR SERVICE TO PROPPER WAITERS, SUPERVISION AND FOOD/CHEF. NO EXCUSE FOR PRICE PAID, BETTER NO TO SIGN A CONTRACT. It is already few weeks that I wrote this, I am editing it, so far I have not received any answer and coments to my truly...
Read moreHave you every dreamed to go to an expensive unfriendly canteen? If not, avoid this place at all means. We were there with a large group of colleagues and the experience was rather disappointing to say the least. The waiters are some of the rudest and the most inattentive I’ve ever seen - it’s almost impossible to get their their attention and the food is basically thrown on your table. The food is extremely basic, unimaginative and over-salted. The desert is tiny and comes mercilessly frozen straight from a freezer. The bathroom is tiny and rather unclean. There is no music. And a cherry on top of the pie - the tables are located under grossly dirty algae-covered umbrellas. I can continue this list, but this should give a clear idea....
