So disappointed in La Corte … the pizzas are good (not great, good) and the space is fantastic but the service was frenetic, functional and abrupt.
The place was chaos with waiters sprinting everywhere … in the first five minutes I was barged into by the waiter twice. Once is okay, it’s a mistake, but to do it again ? Myself and my partner eventually lifted the table and moved it to prevent the clumsy waiter completing his hatrick.
The waiter who took our order could barely hide his dislike for the job and his distain for customers, barking our order back to us and rolling his eyes as we asked about wine options.
As we finished our meal we glanced over to the pizza prep area, which is in an open space in the restaurant, to see one of the prep staff (I don’t know his name but he had a “trust no one” tattoo on his arm) tearing a pizza into slices, adding toppings by hand, wiping his hands on his trousers and moving on the next topping, whether meat, fish or vegetable.

Read moreAwesome pizza and incredible service. Waiter was super friendly and helpful/playful. The pizza dough is really tasty, Neapolitan style. Also, they have an incredible selection of quality beer, I've had a Taranta and a Beggia beer, both really nice. The missus had a red wine, which was quite nice too. Price wise it isn't bad at all, you can spend as much or as little as your budget allows, with pizzas starting at 5-6 euros. Beer was €4.50 and wine glass was €5. We've also had a sweet pizza with hazelnut, chocolate and candied orange peels which was nice, although the menu said it was almonds instead of hazelnut. At the end the waiter has given us a shot of limoncello on the house, which was nice of him. Would really recommend if you like quality pizza at affordable prices. If you can, ask to sit outside as it is quite romantic and lovely...
Read moreI really enjoyed my dinner at "La corte", the atmosphere was evocative. We waited not more than 10 minutes to get our order and in the meantime one of the member of the staff told us the story of this iconic place.
However, the real protagonist of this evening was "Il trionfo del gambero viola" pizza. The acidity of the yellow tomato and the sweetness of the violet prawns combined with the freshness of the stracciatella mozzarella was a triumph of flavours.
The price is a bit over for this area but it is justified for the quality of the product and for the freshness of the...
