We chose this resteraunt due to its amazing location right next to the water. The views are incredible and we sat right next to the water. First of all, the first waiter (older chap) was lovely, he even let our 5 year old borrow his pen to do some drawing. The breads are lovely and great to have oils to dip. We especially liked the chilli Breadsticks. The waiter who brought the food out to us was completely RUDE and slammed our daughters pasta down on the table in front of her without saying a word and walked off. This was 10 whole minutes before our two meals came out. When our two pizzas finally came, I was impressed. I ordered the Diavolo and it was nicely presented however was not spicy and had to ask for chilli oil just to add some heat (I'm used to a spicy diavolo). But the pizza was tasty and would have again. My partner on the other hand had a NIGHTMARE of a pizza. He ordered the seafood pizza which comes with mussels, octopus, prawn etc and it looked delicious when it arrived. Of all the mussels on the pizza there was 3 mussels inside the shells. The rest were empty and some of the shells were even broken into small pieces. My partner complained and the RUDE waiter then went on to state that the mussels were "BAD QUALITY AT THE MOMENT". That is absolutely no excuse. If they're bad quality at the moment WHY SELL THEM? The waiter then stated he would have the pizza remade. By the time this was made and brought out, myself and my daughter had eaten our food. The same RUDE waiter brought the fresh pizza out and stood at the end of our table while my partner opened a mussel to yet again find it was EMPTY. He then proceeded to lift his arms up to his side, shrug and say "IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM". I reminded him that customer service was absolutely his problem and he said "IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM, I WORK OUT HERE AND NOT IN THE KITCHEN". I stated to him that there was no need to be like that and customer service means making sure customers are happy with their meals and putting it right if they're not. BASIC SKILLS. He then walked away and started talking in Italian to another waiter while pointing at us. After removing all the empty mussels (and bits of shell) from his pizza, my partner was left with a soaking wet pizza with a few prawns on and had to tip the water into a dish. There was enough water on the pizza to go for a swim! Attached a photo for reference. Needless to say my partner did not pay for his pizza after a conversation with staff inside. The same RUDE waiter then came to collect our plates and not a word was exchanged.
Really should have read some of the reviews on TripAdvisor before choosing to eat here. Most mention the RUDE ignorant staff who cannot be bothered to serve good quality food and that is EXACTLY what we experienced.
ABSOLUTELY AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. RUDE INCOMPETENT STAFF WITH ABSOLUTELY NO PERSON SKILLS OR CUSTOMER...
Read moreThis was probably the worst meal out i’ve ever had. To start, the grumpy staff who didn’t smile or even say hello and they didn’t ask to see how the food was. I have worked in hospitality for five years and putting in a smile isn’t much and makes the experience for the customer far nicer. I had ordered a pizza to come without olives. The pizza comes with olives so sent it back and had to wait ten minutes for it to come out again whilst my partner has to eat here so it doesn’t get cold. The “new” pizza come back with a single olive under the mozzarella. so they clearly just picked off the olives as it tasted like olives. It was awful. Then a few wasps came so we asked to move to a different spot as my partner is allergic to wasps. The person that moved us really wasn’t nice about it even though we apologised for moving. The original waiter we had was laughing at us with another colleague which was totally unprofessional. I would never write such a bad review unless i thought it was totally necessary. I know what it’s like to work as waiting staff. These people were lazy and grumpy. Not the way to...
Read moreOk, I'll confess: I'd normally consider places like this, exposed, ideally situated, big, as the typical tourist trap. And avoid them.
I could not have been more wrong.
First, the food. Tasty, ration size enough but not too much, reasonably typical Italian but still adequate for tourist tongues. Almost unnecessary to mention: the ice cream is very good, too. Prices: slightly elevated, but considering quality and location still acceptable. A clear like.
Then, the staff. Friendly, multi-lingual yet professional. One of the guys even recognized that after I had finished my meal, I helped my daughter finishing up her pizza - and just silently brought me another clean dish!
Last, the location. Just perfect. Right next to the lake, with the best view you can think of, and right by the ancient city center. Ok, the rest room could use some upgrade. But that's not enough to downgrade this place.
I'd love to go there again. This place is definitely...
