I had a very good dinner at Cavour miso 21 on a Sunday evening when they just opened. I had the pasta with cuttlefish and bell pepper sauce (Mezzemaniche Seppie) which was excellent, the mixed grilled fish which included fish, calamari, and shrimp (Grigliata di Pesce) which was very good, and tiramisu which was also excellent. I also had some of the house red wine 🍷 which was surprisingly good for only 5 euros for a half liter. The food was reasonably priced and a great value. Only issue I had was they were extremely busy with about 40 people already in line when I arrived about 10 minutes before my reservation time. I WhatsApp them asking if I should come to the front of the line but did not hear back. When I got closer to the front I told the owner/guy in charge that I had reservations but he said he called out my name and I did not answer so he gave away my table. I ended up waiting an hour to finally get seated even with reservations. I recommend you WhatsApp their phone number and still get there 20-30 minutes early if you want to get a table. The servers were extremely busy but friendly.
I came back a few days later for lunch and the food and service were amazing so I bumped my rating up. I had the pesto lasagna, fried fish, and Sorrentina mussels which were all amazing. The entire bill for 3 dishes, 1 liter of wine, water was only 34 euros which was less than I paid For other Meals with less flavor and poorer service. I recommend this restaurant but be careful coming on...
Read moreWe recently ate here and I had a really frustrating experience. The reservation process here is not really straightforward so my girlfriend missed that you can do a reservation in the first place. That's partially on us. OK, so we decided to come a bit early and wait until the restaurant is open so that we can get the first unreserved seat.
The waiters treated us (and everyone else waiting like us) in a dismissive manner and literally asked us to wait away from the restaurant. There was pandemonium and people were arguing who came first etc... This is not something you want to deal on a night out and I think it has a lot to do with the restaurant's bad attitude towards its customers. If not for my partner, I would've walked away at this point and ate at a proper place.
It's actually very simple to have a tally of how many seats are reserved so that you can seat unreserved people as they come. I literally ate at a similar restaurant this week that immediately told us they had only 3 seats left and everything else was reserved/occupied before its opening time. Then they seated us and made those seats unavailable in their (paper) chart. That's how it works around the world. This is the only restaurant in Genoa I've seen that is this unorganized and has an "I don't care" attitude.
In the end, I managed to eat the food and dishes were very normal and average. Definitely not worth waiting for I'd say. I won't come back to this...

We were initially told it would be a 30-minute wait for a table, but it ended up being closer to an hour. The restaurant was busy, with several other people also waiting, and the atmosphere felt quite dull. It also seemed that certain groups—likely friends or family of the waiter—were seated immediately upon arrival despite not having reservations, which was frustrating to witness.
When we were finally seated, the waiter greeted us warmly, which was a pleasant touch. We placed our order, but several dishes were unavailable, so we had to adjust. This wasn’t too much of an issue, but it would have been better to be told upfront.
Our food arrived at around 10:00 p.m. The pesto lasagna was lukewarm, and our starters never came. When we asked about them, the waiter informed us they were out of stock—something we should have been told earlier instead of having to follow up ourselves.
Overall, the food was okay but nothing memorable. Many people I’ve spoken to have also described it as mediocre. There’s nothing particularly unique about this restaurant—it seems to be popular more because of Instagram hype and local buzz rather than the quality of the experience.
For the same price range, there are many other restaurants that deliver a far...
