Restaurant "Trattoria Gianna" - typical genovese dishes — Restaurant in Genoa

We were a group of 8 people at this restaurant and it was an unpleasant experience for us. The only thing that was ok was the service, otherwise the food was below average for the demands and the cost of the preparations and what culminated in completely ruining our evening was the attitude of the owner. In short, we ordered a wine that they told us they no longer had but he recommended another one, a bottle was brought to us, he gave us to taste, the wine was sour and oxidized, unbelievable, we asked for something else and he told us that it was not possible, the wine is very good, he tasted it, so we have to pay for it. Ho scelto di cenare in questa trattoria catturata dall'indirizzo in cui si trova: Vico delle Camelie. Appassionata d'opera fin da bambina, è stato un richiamo irresistibile. Sono andata a curiosare il sito, il menù proposto, la filosofia del locale ed è stato un attimo confermare la prenotazione per un sabato sera romantico. Beh, ogni aspettativa è stata ampiamente ripagata. Fin dall'entrata ci si immerge in un'esperienza piacevole e rilassante, trasmessa dall'ambiente accogliente, molto pulito ed elegantemente soffuso, sebbene non perda la sua anima popolana. Musica d'ambiente mai invasiva che fa da piacevole sottofondo al servizio, discreto e con le giuste tempistiche, lasciando comunque la scena, in maniera mai invasiva, ma saggiamente dosata, al proprietario Maurizio che, nel suo elegante completo da somellier, ti racconta il viaggio tra il menù e la carta dei vini con gesti e dialoghi pacati e sapienti. Ogni piatto è stato un viaggio nella Genova dei ricordi con sapiente maestria di esecuzione e presentazione, condite da un pizzico di innovazione che contribuisce alla valorizzazione della materia prima di ottima qualità. Abbiamo scelto Cappon Magro e U tuccu a-a revèrsa che ci hanno incantato (dovete assolutamente provarli entrambi, sono divini!!!) proseguendo poi coi calamaretti ripieni di se stessi, un piatto che definirei una nuvola per morbidezza, di intenso sapore delicato. I dolci!!!! Mamma mia i dolci!!! Crema Maurizio tutta la vita, me ne sono letteralmente innamorata, ma anche il tiramisù era sublime! Quite underwhelming experience. While it look cute from the outside and we already know Italian waiters are a bit more rude and less service oriented so we didn’t mind in the beginning we were disappointed with the food being quite flavorless. To top it all the toilet seemed broken and we had to pay 6€ extra just for sharing a plate and another 6€ service charge which feels outrageous to me - be happy we eat at your restaurant to begin with.
