La Teiera Magica — Restaurant in Genoa

A restaurant made for my wife and I. Good prices and delicious food. Bruno was welcoming and helpful, explaining the different dishes on offer with care and attention to the fact that we are vegetarian. His English was excellent so we could talk freely. My wife tried the vegetable mezzaluna al pesto and I had the vegetable filled pasta with walnut sauce. It was so delicious we had to have another two dishes; vegetable ravioli with smoked cheese and paprika sauce and a three cheese pie. Unusually, Bruno could also offer us a choice of three alcohol free beers which I was delighted by, being a non drinker myself (no alcohol is served). For desert we had a cheesecake made by Giovanna which was lighter than normal since it included yoghurt in the recipe. Everything was beautifully prepared and cooked. It was a shame it was our last night in Genoa so we could not go again to try other offerings on the menu. We had a night flight out of Genova after visiting 5 Terre so decided to visit Genova for the afternoon. La Teiera Magica was amazing, Giovanna was very kind and friendly and when we asked for some local dishes she served us up 3 delicious plates of (very reasonably priced) pasta. Gnocchi al pesto, pansoti (a type of triangular ravioli) with a delicious, creamy walnut sauce and then ravioli "cacio e pepe" with a zucchini sauce. Most other kitchens around here close at about 2ish, but Giovanna welcomed us in and made us feel really special. Would definitely come back! Oh and the iced tea infusions were so refreshing and tasty!...

We arrived in this local resto ahead of time and they were very accommodating. While waiting, one of the staff was busy preparing for the chair for my son and when everything was ready we entered and the place was perfect! While ordering, the waiter was very open in answering our questions especially if we can modify one of their dish for my son. And yes, they did! The food was perfect from the appetizers down to the second plate. We haven't had our desserts because sadly we were running late for our tour in the Acquario di Genova.
