Dined here with my friend. We're both young and were speaking a foreign language. We felt like we were treated differently and felt like they tried to rip us off. We got different bread than the other tables, they got fresh buns and we got dry and pre sliced white bread. We asked the table next to us if they ordered the bread seperately and they said no. We asked for a wine menu, they instead just poured the wine straight to our glasses, didn't even let us taste it before deciding, said it was good and local. They showed other customers the wine menu without them even asking. We felt like something was off, when the check came, it showed 4€ for something we didn't order. One server said it was for the bread, another said it was for the service. Once we pointed out the different explanation of the price and the cheap bread they got offended and the warm customer service mask completely dropped, instead of explaining or reasoning. They reduced the price by only 2€. They were snappy and stormed off after the payment went through. Definitely not the 4 star service we were expecting. You might get different service if you are older/not a woman. Also, they gave us two ½l bottles of water, which cost 2€, when on tripadvisor it says they have 1l bottles for 3€. The food was definitely not worth the...
Read moreMy wife and I were lucky enough to discover this place while exploring Genoa. We were wowed by the food. The owners run a mirthful and homely mom-and-pop operation. They are the waiters, hosts, and chefs. The pesto and Genovese sauces were brilliant. And beyond wonderful entrees, owners/chefs could also whip up delectable and sublime desserts. My wife and I highly recommend the chestnut flour pesto pasta, the fried anchovies, the ravioli with Genovese sauce, the pana cotta con cioccolato, and the dark chocolate pie. High quality ingredients as a base for food made with love.
Above all, the owners were warm, generous, and jovial people. We had a great time chatting, as the owners also introduced us to wonderful wine from his cousin's winery.
Our experience at this restaurant made me sad to leave Genoa (an underrated tourist destination, btw). We will come here again in the future. In the mean time, we hope people support this wonderful restaurant!
Do note that because everything is run by the two owners, seating may be rather limited, so bringing too large a party (=8 people)...

One of the standout aspects of my visit was the owner's excellent command of the English language. Communication was effortless, allowing me to discuss the menu options and receive insightful recommendations. It was refreshing to have such clear and concise communication in a foreign country.
