This was our second visit to this gem of a restaurant. Au Cafe is hidden on a side street and offers genuine local specialties prepared with love and sophistication. The owner attends to guests himself and is a warm and genial presence. The space is comfortable and elegant without being stuffy and the prices are more than reasonable considering the quality of the cuisine. It's more difficult than one might think to find a genuine Ligurian restaurant that does not offer the usual tourist fare. If you want a real Genovese experience, this is the place.

Ambience is so welcoming and you‘ll enjoy the food (they have typical Genovese dish). I recommend Au Café for sure, plus the bread is outstanding! You can’t imagine that a tiny piece of bread could open a wonderland of tastes for you! 🤩 So don’t miss it!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Le menu propose des plats typiquement de la région avec des produits frais et cuisinés sur place par des membres de la famille. Le pesto, le poisson, les légumes de saison seront vous convier à déguster une cuisine toute en finesse. Les prix sont tout aussi agréables que la cuisine et les vins de la région sont excellents. Si vous aimez l'histoire de Genova, le patron né dans la vieille ville, se fera un plaisir de vous raconter quelques anecdotes sur les palaces entourant le "Au Café". Une adresse à ne pas manquer.

While walking around the old streets of Genoa we discovered a gem of a restaurant. It was small and had an intimate feeling about it so we made a booking. The interior was absolutely beautiful, elegant and decorated with amazing furnishings, memorabilia from days gone by and with extremely comfortable seating.

We had a wonderful dinner, the food was beautifully presented and really delicious. Maurizio, the owner, made the evening one to remember, he was such a lovely man who was happy to chat with us throughout the evening. We would highly recommend Au Cafe to anyone who likes good food , fine dining and a great atmosphere.
