A fantastic Indian restaurant in central La Spezia! We came across this wonderful restaurant a couple of nights ago on a main, bustling path in La Spezia, so perfect for a wander around before or afterwards, with lots of shops and gelatarias. Good place for an evening wander.
The Punjabi Dhaba itself is bright and fresh with plenty of space at the front where you can people watch, inside, and a spacious garden area outside.
Being vegetarians, my family and I are especially appreciative of finding tasty vegetarian Indian dishes, interspersed of course between visits to Pizzerias and gelatarias in Italia during the day. Punjabi Dhaba offer a great selection of vegetarian dishes, including: vegetarian samosas, vegetable sabzi, Chanda masala, dal makhani; an assortment of naans, rice, raita, salad. They even offer kheer!! We have visited thrice now and each meal has been satisfying and deliciozo!
The hosts are very friendly and welcoming...
Read moreWent to Chicken N Chips/Punjabi Dhaba while visiting La Spezia and the Cinque Terre for the day. My husband and I came across this restaurant and decided to give it a try. I was initially skeptical so we just tried the chicken samosas. For 5.5 euros we received 4 chicken samosas, a Coke, and fries. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the samosas were. It left us wanting to try more later on before we left La Spezia. So we walked around the town and worked up our appetite and went back for dinner. We were both glad we went back for dinner.
My husband ordered the chicken biryani which came with raita and I ordered the chicken palak (chicken with spinach) and plain rice. We thoroughly enjoyed both our meals. I would have to say that their chicken palak was one of the best I have ever eaten. It had lots of flavor and the chicken was tender and moist. Both meals cost 25.5 euros. The food tasted delicious and there was...
Read moreIf you’re Black, please don’t go there. We’ve been waiting 15min there and no one even gave us the menu. No greetings, even no look from the guys. Meanwhile, all the other people (maybe it’s just a coincidence but they were all white…) arriving after us were receiving the menu, then the waiter was coming back to take their order and serving them. Then since it’s a fast food, we decided to stop waiting and go inside to order, but even there, no greetings, not even a look from them. We felt like they were only taking our order because there was no other way not to serve us. Once ready, they just dropped our bag on the table without a word… I’ve been traveling a lot, I don’t like to say things happens to me because I’m black, I’m always like it’s just coincidence or I always find a reason, but this time…it was truly because of our color. Hope no one will have such and...
