Ok, you gotta follow me here.
I’m giving 5 stars due to the fact this is the closest thing there is in Italy to American Southern Fried Chicken. If you’re unfamiliar with the style, you may be turned off by the amount of oil or consistency of the chicken - this is the American style. I’ve seen many reviews complain about how there’s a layer of grease between the breading and chicken skin - guys, that’s how it’s done in the South!! In America many peel off and eat it, as it’s their favorite part!! 1000s of gas stations in the south have chicken similar to this (think Chester Fried for those from USA), so it’s a tried and true dish for those who like it.
They’ve nailed the frying process and the texture of the breading. However, not surprisingly, the spices just don’t match up in the American counterpart. No cayenne in the spicy breading (wasn’t spicy at all), white pepper was missing (key in southern style chicken), and more. With that being said, it’s hard to find those spices over here, so I can let that go. Bottom line, while it may pale in comparison to a family run chicken shack in Memphis, if you’re craving American fried chicken while in La Spezia, this is the only place that has it… so for that they get 5 stars.
I had 6 wings (which are not split, so in America that’s 12) and a breast. In true southern fried fashion, it was possibly even better having been set out on the counter overnight. Just uh, bring your...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at this Indian restaurant was a true culinary delight. The flavors of traditional dishes such as Naan, Kadahi Chicken, Palak Paneer, Biryani, and Dal Tadka were simply exquisite. The complementary curd dish and salad added a refreshing touch to the meal.
While the service was not exceptionally fast, it still maintained a decent pace, striking a balance between efficiency and a relaxed dining experience. The taste of the food was great, although the portions were on the smaller side. However, the quality and flavors justified the price, making it a worthwhile dining experience.
Overall, this Indian restaurant offered an inviting ambiance, scrumptious dishes, and reasonable pricing. It is a place I would recommend to those seeking taste of authentic Indian cuisine in a cozy setting...
