Summary: I loved everything about this place: the cute little terasse, the amazing service and the delicious food.
Food: this has been my best meal in my entire trip in Puglia (fifth day). We shared the truffle pasta and the pasta with anchovies. Both were delicious but we were surprised that we actually preferred the anchovie one. My 2 other friends had the tomato pasta and the ravioli with foie. We all concorded that it was our best pasta so far.
The service: all the waiters were kind and attentive delivering a superior experience. We struggled finding a wine that suited the taste of the 4 of us and the waiter was super calm and nice about it. Not getting annoyed about us tasting 4 wines before deciding. At the contrary they were like "don't worry the most important is you enjoy your food and your wine". For me it's those type of attention that really makes a difference.
The place: we ate outside and the decor was super cute. Lovely to enjoy an evening. Only areas of improvement my friend told me the girl bathroom was not super clean.
I highly recommend this place - one of our best...
Read moreWhat a gem of a restaurant! On July 19, 2024, our hotel, Patria Palace, recommended this restaurant and we had a memorable experience all the way around. The service provided by the maître d’ was very welcoming & professional as he showed us to a beautiful limestone “cave-like” room, with soft lighting. We arrived on the early side, so we had this room to ourselves for the first hour and it was special. The waitresses were attentive and we were served beautifully-presented, delicious meals. The price of our meals which included appetizer, wine, and dessert, was so reasonable, that my husband gave them a larger than usual tip, which appeared to pleasantly surprise our gracious maître d’. We enjoyed ourselves so much, that we intended to return before the end of our stay in Lecce. Thank you La Bocca Ristorante for a most memorable dining experience in lovely Lecce. LA BOCCA RISTORANTE, Vi ringrazio per una cena così...
Read moreOur first time in Lecce. This is a fabulous, upscale restaurant inside an old, restored Palazzo. Very creative, sophisticated dishes, with amazing flavors and presentations. The chef is a genius. We had the “candy” pasta stuffed with eggplant parmigiana, as well as the aglio e olio linguine with fish broth, both outstanding. This was followed by a melt-in-your mouth beef cheek, along with a fabulous veal chop Milanese (breaded) - this last piece was a huge portion, could have easily just shared this item. Both also amazing. We shared (we were stuffed by this point) an apple tarte with a basil/hazelnut semifreddo, a perfect end to this meal. The sommelier/maitre d’ guided us to a wonderful bottle of Pugliese red wine, Tenute Chiaromonte. Fantastic, super attentive service. Highly recommend this establishment. Cannot wait to return at some point in...
