Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Friendliest owner. Small place tucked in a cute side street off a packed main square. Filled with Italians who put flavor above all else.
I didn’t expect too much watching prepped food plated, then heated in a prominently placed countertop microwave. Oh, but the taste of homemade goodness comes through. Plates and sandwiches both available. Everything an incredible value. The only way the bill inflates is if you order more food, which is difficult not to do even given the generous portions.
Get the 2 different mushrooms, local greens like spinach, broccoli, peppers, spicy peppers, meat/eggplant... bread good. Red wine adequate.
TONS of veggie options to accompany the meat choices. This place makes up for any veggie deficit you may have experienced. Nice break from pasta, although my husband did mix her meatballs and peppers with some orecchiette and pronounced it fabulous!
We’re returning for the recommended horse eat & the yummy lightly breaded fried cauliflower. Go around 8pm when she has all the options out. We came at 7:30 and missed some gems. Once it's...
Read moreStopped by on a Wednesday at 130pm with our lunch reservation with a small dog. We were welcomed upon arrival and seated immediately at this small but popular among locals restaurant.
Overall, we were quite pleased with lunch here - food served was well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. Service was excellent by friendly English speaking staff.
Antipasto della Casa was tasty and was quite varied and surprisingly filling.
Parmigiana di Melanzane vegetariana was also very tasty and served hot.
Fave e Cicorie were well prepared and tasty.
Polpette alla genovese was delightful with very tender meatballs served in a bowl of hot cooked red onions with olive oil. tasted much like French onion soup with no cheese.
Verdura di stagione stufata was also served hot with a quantity of cooked greens requiring 2 to finish it off.
If you want to experience reasonably priced excellent local food and service, stop by mezzo Quinto next time...
Read moreI had the veggie and burrata plate and it was a lot of wet greens. I saw another person’s plate about ten minutes after mine and theirs looked a lot more balanced, so I guess it’s hit and miss. Next time I’d try the parmigiana, which is also vegetarian. BUT…
… there are few things I enjoy in life like a good hero-villain story and that is what you get in the literal war over the tables here. It’s extremely obvious that you’re supposed to take a table AFTER you get your food but “certain people” (tosse tosse) try to claim tables while they’re at the back of the queue, thus leaving nowhere for people who have received their food to sit, and it’s clear the owner here has ZERO tolerance for that kind of selfish behavior. Watching people pout after getting told to leave the tables they’re stealing is truly heartwarming for anyone who has ever considered the needs of others before acting. Recommended purely for the...
