Ristorante Via Cairoli — Restaurant in Lecce

Searching for restaurants to go to for the evening I came across this one. It didn’t have a menu of any sort online to take a look at, you had to go off of the pictures that were posted. I hope my menus get posted here. Some of the photos we saw were from the past and they didn’t have those items anymore. We started off with a mixed salad and assortment of tomatoes. I guess one lesson learned in the middle of October tomatoes and no longer ripe or in season. With that being said, we ordered two pasta dishes, both were kind of bland and not too exciting. Dirò una preghiera per tutti quelli che hanno lasciato recensioni positive e aggettivi paradisiaci a questo posto. Vabbè.. vi racconto la mia umile esperienza.. attirato dalle innumerevoli recensioni positive, decido di recarmi in questo posto nel centro storico di Lecce, composto da 1 stanza con volte antiche (carine), e mobilio visivamente usurato. Ordino 4 scampi crudi e ci trovo dentro il verme anisakis.. vabbè può capitare.. Poi ordino il polpo fritto proposto negli antipasti, e mi arrivano dei pezzettini di circa 1 cm gommosi e fritti in olio chiaramente ESAUSTO ( scuri color bronzo e maleodoranti) dico tra me e me, vabbè dai stai calmo, non fare l antipatico.. ( avevo fame) allora ordino un primo semplice di preparazione ma allo stesso tempo gustoso, linguine agli scampi ( cotti stavolta), e mi arrivano delle linguine insaporite in un sughetto di pesce generico ( sicuramente quello che usano per lo scoglio) con un sapore fortissimo e fastidioso che sembrava … sale e pepe in quantità esagerate e piccantino.. provo a fare due o tre forchettate ma non riesco proprio a mandarlo giù.. allora chiamo il titolare e chiedo spiegazioni.. mi dice che loro usano mettere il tabasco🫣 nelle linguine agli scampi?? Dico io.. e lui dice si è una ricetta mia.. ah!! e senza chiedere al cliente se lo gradisce? Vabbè..Allora mando indietro il piatto e gli dico senta mi faccia gentilmente delle orecchiette semplici al pomodoro. Arrivano.. Visivamente sembravano buone il problema è che non sapevano di niente ne le orecchiette in sè, e ne il pomodoro. Vabbè, le mangio e mi alzo… finale… conto alto e voleva farmi pagare pure le linguine al tabasco..che ovviamente non ho pagato… peccato che non ho fatto le foto di tutto. Nel frattempo faccio una breve ricerca online per capire se mi fossi perso qualcosa sulle ultime novità in campo di ricette del genere.. praticamente mi ha insultato pure Google solo per averlo scritto.. 50€ per 4 scampi , polpo fritto esausto è un orecchietta al pomodoro, 1 calice di vino da supermercato e 1 litro di acqua....

We had a memorable family dinner at Via Cairoli our first night in Italy this year. The food was nothing but great, service was excellent and the bill was in the guests favor. The highlight of the evening was the owner’s self made ice cream (which he with good reason was proud of). This is definitely a place to go to in Lecce! PS!
