(From an italian living in UK) This restaurant was a ray of light in the storm (for real) since we were in Livorno during the week of the floods, and we managed to book a cheeky early dinner possibly because someone else cancelled their plans. So yes, book it ahead if you can, the staff were marvellous, super friendly and even held a little surprise for my father's Birthday! Their kitchen worked fast, and pictures barely can grasp the quality we experienced, all tasted homely and with class, we all shared bits of each other meals as it all felt like a journey. Another great point is the location, and we loved the lower volume of the music in the background as it allowed conversations between tables easy and private. When I was there I heard they were planning revonation perhaps, so there is a chance what you'll experience is even better than we did! Can only recommend warmly!

I will give 5 stars solely for their ambiance and their dessert!!! Their housemade dessert are one of the best dessert I've had in Europe, and I've had many!! Their dessert are rich but not too rich, sweet but not too sweet, it just tasted sooo fresh and soo right., I don't know how to explain it, it's just great and you have to tried it yourself. The restaurant itself wasn't too big, but decorated tastefully, just very cute and chic and they offer swing for a chair, yes, swing!! That hangin from their ceiling! It is incredible. The food however, wasn't the best, it was okay, but I'll still comeback for their dessert

Food alone was closer to 3 1/2 stars but the tiramisu style dessert brought it up to 4 stars.

For starters we had two different pastas - carbonara and spaghetti del peccato. Tastewise they both relyed a bit too much on salt for our taste - we missed some surprising element - but can't say whether it's fair to expect that. For actual meal we had "lo stinco di alessandro". If we had paid closer attention to the description of the meal we might have chosen otherwise - for us Finn's it's really close to our Christmas pork. Once again, a bit one-sidedly the seasoning was based on salt and we would have loved to have something new and exciting.

The dessert was the best part, a tiramisu style. Not too sweet.

The service was friendly and the waitress spoke good English, which always helps us non-Italian...
