Controra — Restaurant in Locorotondo

When you visit Locorotondo, you absolutely must come to ‘Controra’ for a meal, drink, or both! Santina, the owner, will welcome you into her life and take you on a culinary journey if you’re open to it.

If you get the chance to try Santina’s home-cooked tasting menu (Aperitif/aperitivo), which is not on the menu, don’t miss out! Every dish is made from local produce and cooked with love to perfection. 👌🏻🥰

There was also no problem getting vegetarian options of all the dishes.

We visited ‘Controra’ several times during our stay and were treated like family. The food and atmosphere are great, and the views of the valley below are breathtaking!

Santina runs a small business and does all the cooking herself, with some help from her lovely staff. So, be patient if it’s a busy day. It’s worth it! 😍

We booked a table for aperitif for our wedding party of 16 persons well in advanced based on the absolutely amazing reviews. They not only reserved our table with a small deposit but reached out to me the morning of to confirm our reservation. The food was so fresh and farmed within a km and were more than impressed with the presentation and portions. We held our wedding welcome dinner at Controra and it was absolutely perfect. The food was so fresh and delicious, the local wines were amazing, and the team went above and beyond to make the evening special—even surprising us with a beautiful floral arrangement. We’re so grateful for their effort in making it an unforgettable night!
