Tourist trap warning
Please be careful about the reviews here, I am not sure what is going on but it does not reflect reality at all. Is it because it was a bad day, chef changed or they serve foreigners something else…no idea but:
The aglio olio pasta was terrible, fresh pasta they said but they were cooked like soup noodles that liquefied in your mouth. The sauce was a green goo that does not resemble anything I ate in Italy for 2 years. Did not taste like anything, not even garlic and I am really not sure what it was made of.
The oven potatoes were 1000% reheated. Drier than sand, hot on the outside and cold on the inside, absolutely terrible.
While I am not an expert in seafood I’m over 90% sure the seafood was not fresh as it tasted stale and a bit rubbery. The shrimps were not deveined and cooked like that, good luck deveining them. I even saw reviews here complaining they had stomach issues after.
In reality it would deserve a 2 star but with such a high rating now it must come close to reality and stop fooling tourists.
I urge you to do an exercise and go in other seafood places especially more south and eat fresh seafood then come back and write a review after you made the comparison.
This restaurant is doing and incredible disservice to Italy and...
Read moreThe food is terrible, especially the seafood that was either frozen or gone bad, we definitely didn’t expect it on an island. We had the frittura di crostacei: the crab was good, but the prawns were not even devained and of course they tasted like poop. The potatoes definitely reheated and probably a few days old-those we couldn’t eat more than a few. We also had the Aglio Oglio pasta with shrimp and baby octopus, but the taste was so bland, no oil, no garlic, just the watery sauce from the pasta with some thawed baby octopus - The antipasto calamari filled with ricotta was good. Before the owner replies with “but you cleaned the plates” yes it was already 10 pm, hungry as hell and we paid 90 eur for it. We’re not gonna make a scandal with so many people there and still be hungry. The staff was not bad, I spoke italian so probably it helped, but they did seem extremely rushed with everything. Bottom line, this is a tourist...
Read moreMy partner and I went to this restaurant whilst we were in Palau, as it has great reviews.
The food was really good, and the seafood risotto was amazing!
However, I did not order a dish that would come to the table, and when I spoke with the waiter, he quickly snapped me and said I did. Also, food did not come at the time we wanted, such as starters first and then our main.
When I tried to speak with a waiter to solve the problem again, he snapped me, and I did not like it, so I let this go.
Although the waiters speak a little bit of English, they prefer to speak in Italian, and the treatment can be different if you’re a tourist.
Overroll food was delicious, but we experienced really poor service. Hopefully you don’t have the same experience as us, as it is a really nice restaurant...
