Ichimi — Restaurant in Lucca

My friends and I , (five of us) had a wonderful experience at Ichimi. We were visiting from California and felt like Sushi. We googled for Sushi restaurants and Ichimi popped up with good reviews. We decided to give it a try. Our first impression was that the restaurant was super clean and the servers were hospitable. We ordered the all we can eat dinner and it exceeded our expectations!! The shrimp and vegetable tempura were cooked to order, so fresh & crispy! The sashimi and sushi were all fresh, as were the salads. This is a fusion restaurant, so we also tried fried noodles, pork, etc.. Everything was tasty and fresh. The price was more than reasonable. At the end of the meal we needed a taxi to return to our hotel. Even though the restaurant was very busy by now, the hostess graciously called the taxi company for us since we don’t speak Italian. After numerous attempts & no positive response from either the taxi company nor Uber, the hostess, who happens to be the owner, offered her Dad to give us a ride!!!! Who does that?? On top of that, Dad the driver vehemently turned down our token of gratuity we offered him at the end of the ride.

We were so overwhelmed with this family’s kindness and graciousness, not to mention the delicious meal. So thank you Ichimi and the owners. We are grateful for your hospitality and we will pass it forward. Abundant Blessings...

Food pretty good, but service terrible and watch for them deliberately overcharging you! We went to Ichimi for my daughters bday lunch when in Lucca. We got the all you can eat which was pretty good value and most of the food was pretty good (except their gyozas). This place was really let down though by the rude larger lady who seems to manage the place. Our son was meant to be half price as he is 128cm (under 130cm kids are half price) and she basically accused us of underestimating his height and got him to stand up and still looked like we were trying to trick her. All the staff were very curt and abrupt. The last courses come out slow to discourage further ordering. But worst of all when it came time to pay she deliberately overcharged us on the card payment machine which I only noticed after I had already swiped and she deliberately pretended there was an issue in the printout receipt so I wouldn’t notice. sconsiglio fortemente di andare, metto una stella perché non è possibile metterne zero. avevamo prenotato un tavolo per 6 e a 15 minuti dall’orario della prenotazione avbiamo iniziato a richiamarli per avvisare che saremmo arrivati mezz’ora in ritardo. abbiamo chiamato 8 volte ma non rispondeva nessuno, infatti al nostro arrivo ci viene detto che il nostro tavolo è stato dato ad altre persone perché pensavano non saremmo venuti e ci hnno fatto stringere su un tavolo da 4. pochissima attenzione al cliente: non ci sono stati dati i menù per ordinare finché non li abbiamo chiesti noi più di 5 minuti dopo esserci seduti, abbiamo chiesto di portarci un bicchiere (che mancava) ben 3 volte durante tutto l’arco della serata ed è arrivato dopo un’ora, ci hanno servito delle coca vola in vetro chiuse senza la possibilità di aprirle. servizio lentissimo: siamo stati seduti due ore e mezza e non sono riusciti a portarci tutti i piatti tanto che verso orario di chiusura sono arrivati al tavolo mostrandoci la lista dei piatti che mancavano (una decina circa) chiedendoci se li volevamo ancora, abbiamo detto di no solo perché eravamo stanchi si dover aspettare ed eravamo anche in ritardo con altri impegni che avevamo, in poche parole siamo andati via dopo quasi tre ore ancora affamati. il cibo in generale è mediocre ma il salmone è di pessima qualità, abbiamo dovuto mandare indietro molti piatti perché di cattivo gusto. alla cassa abbiamo ovviamente condiviso con lo staff il nostro disappunto sul servizio e non ci è stata data nessuna spiegazione sul servizio pessimo e molto lento, per di più (abbiamo pagato alla romana) ci hanno alzato la cifra di 40centesimi a testa per arrotondare la cifra quando non se li meritavano nemmeno e per il servizio ricevuto forse avrebbero addirittura dovuto farci...
