Worst meal I've had in Italy. Cold and bland Spaghetti, potatoes drenched in oil (seemed reheated multiple times).

The waiter was kind to us claiming he had the best food in Italy. He said if the food wasn't the best we wouldn't have to pay for it - even shook on it. That's how he got us to sit down.

My wife ordered a fish with potatoes and I went with the pasta seafood del lago. The latter on his recommendation.

After a 25 minute wait (perfectly fine). The spaghetti were cold and I had to ask to have them reheated. They came back shortly after. The spaghetti were drenched in some sort of cream with little to no taste. The noodles were soggy and unpleasant.

I am not a picky eater, but ate only half the plate. The waiter got upset with our complaint and had us pay in full, which we,...

Ate here in our second day in Malcesine, they got a great view out over the lake and sunset, which was beautiful, but that was it.

I think many people get lured by the view, watching sunset while eating dinner, so they had a lot of customers and made the place look really popular, the waiting time to get a table was around 20 minutes. We got free drink while we waited, which was a good gesture.

Overall, the food was not that good. Price/taste ratio is low. You’re paying for the view. The atmosphere was stressful, took long time to get food and the waiter ran like ants.

The restaurant simply prioritize quantity...

Food is ok but our expirience as a family was horrible. Kids got their food (pasta carbonara) after about 10-15 minutes. When our kids had finished and the plates were removed me and my wife still had no food. Called the waitors several times. We could see other customers getting their food that were ther long after us. We did not get any customer service while waiting, like an excuse and something extra to drink. Almost 1 hour later than our kids we got the food. 1 pasta and 1 grilled salmon with vegetables. It cost 95 euro! Worst dinner and by far most...

Great location if you sit at the front. Staff attentive and friendly. Recommended local rosé wine was excellent. Starter of grilled vegetables with local cheese and pistachio was a bit bland and unseasoned. Main of vegetable ragout pasta was again a bit bland and overcooked. The dessert was a recommended local delicacy, a kind of mille-feuille with berries, and was spectacular, the best thing I've tasted in a long time. Italian brandy and coffee was good, free limoncello digistifs were a nice touch. Great overall, but the vegetarian food was a bit underwhelming.

Osteria al Vecchio Ponte is a fine place to eat when you are in Malcesine. It features house made pasta cooked well with a range of creative approaches using fish. The Amatriciana made with smoked trout and the Lasagna with fish from Garda are both excellent. Service is prompt, friendly and attentive. The location at the old port is wonderful and the view from the outdoor tables is beautiful. I can recommend the Cream Catalana was a superb dessert. There is a good selection on bottled reds nd whites. The wine by the glass offerings are very limited.

We chose this place based on its trip advisor rating. The setting is beautiful on the lake down by the water with lovely staff. The amarone and valpollicella wine was excellent. Olive oil too. The tomato soup is a bit too bland. The branzino (sea bass) was really nice and the vegetables as a side but the prawns weren't the fresh and quite average. I didn't like the tiramisu. Limoncello was nice. This place has potential just need to up the flavours in the soup and get fresher prawns!
