One of the better appointed restaurants we had the chance to see in Sassi di Matera. It’s just off the side of a busy touristy street and it felt really cosy, allowing us to dip in the amazing atmosphere of this historic region without being too crowded and loud.
We had no reservation but the staff welcomed us without hesitation and set us up with a table, fulfilling our demands for an outside setting so we can smoke, despite being a busy night and having no prior reservations.
Took a while to take our orders but the food was excellent and the pricing was reasonable for the area. The wine they serve by the glass was good enough, albeit being a bit pricy - €6 for a glass when mid-range bottles are around €24-5 seems on the expensive side.

Nico is really an excellent chef and you simply MUST try the amazing ravioli he makes with lemon and codfish. It’s so unique and utterly DELICIOUS!
