My sister and I had an incredible experience here during our wine and olive oil tasting. One of the owners, Giuseppe shared his extensive and impressive knowledge of all the wines we drank and oils we tried. Our meal following this tasting was also distinctive. We were able to taste every detail Davide, the other owner used to describe the dishes we ordered. We recommend the fried zucchini flowers, the burnt grain focaccia, the red pepper chips, among some of their offerings. Both the pastas we ordered were out of this world so I think you can’t go wrong with any of the pastas you order. We ordered 3 of the desserts, which is more than half of their dessert menu and we were pleased with all of them. Their cannoli is not the typical over sweetened cannoli but rather a thoughtful expression of it. Not the finest experience you can have in Matera. The first course was good. Had the Carpaccio. Fish was well prepared, as were the peppers. However, the pasta with Shrimp was tasteless and the tuna was almost over cured due to it being wrapped in a cured meat. Found it at times not enjoyable to eat. We found it odd that they did not even ask why my wife did not even touch her pasta. To me, I would have cared if my guest did not enjoy their food. This is fine dining at its best. The Chef is obviously very passionate with combining food. It was a taste explosion, all of it including the house Chardonnay. We had the beetroot baked to share and out came a chef taste of amazing red cabbage with fruit but I’m not doing it justice explaining. We then shared the amazing pea / oyster/ zucchini risotto and finished with a beautiful desert. The waiting staff were just amazing and so accomodating.
