There is literally no reason to come here unless you are starving and there is no other place open (my reasoning). I’m not Italian, I’m not a chef, I don’t even cook more than once per month, but even I know that egg white has no place in Carbonara. How is it even possible to bring the food 4 minutes after we ordered? Do you have a magic wand? Guess not, considering that the pasta itself tasted like water, the sauce was separated and the whole dish tasted like omlet. Read moreA wonderful evening, I was concerned as I am gluten intolerant, but the chef assured me they has gluten free pasta, but was aware he did not have seperate cooking areas, so suited me. He again advised us regarding the wine of the region. Was able to give us the gluten free bread with olive oil, which was delicious apparently olive oil from the region I decided to stay away from pasta and had the beef carpaccio to share and I head the steak and my wife the veal cheeks that were both delicious We found the food and staff were first class, and it was so good to see the experienced staff take time to help train...
Read moreThe owner was attentive and helpful. However, the food was really not very good. The pasta was stodgy and the tomato sauce lacked depth of flavour. The meat and potatoes was akin to a school meal.
Also awkward that the owner and his family then ate on the same table as the restaurant was empty. With his partner and daughter (?) talking loudly in the corner.
Music was bad and played off a tiny stereo which did not add to the already lacking atmosphere.
All in all the most disappointing meal we had in Italy and an awkward environment. Maybe we caught them...
