Rosy e Gabriele 1 — Restaurant in Milan

All I can say is WOW! Was not expecting this caliber of food or service at almost midnight after a day of flying to Milan from San Francisco!

This was our first night in Italy, and after 2 weeks, this was still the best food and best service we had in the entire country!

It was almost midnight… this was one of the only places open. We didn’t expect much… but wow were we surprised!

It wasn’t busy and we were afraid we were annoying, coming in so late. Never have I ever been treated so warmly and felt so welcomed, literally as if we were family, in a restaurant before.

The host, the server, the food runners and (I think) either the manager or owner were all over the top hospitable.

Don’t let the bright lights fool you, this food is incredible!

Amazing wine suggestion from our server! We are used to Sonoma/Napa and don’t know Italian wines well… but the bottle he suggested was DELICIOUS!

Hands-down the best pizza we had in Italy (possibly ever). Get the spicy salami pizza!

The pasta was divine! Perfect levels of flavor and acidity. I hate when pasta sauce has even a hint of sweetness and this had zero - soooooo good! Perfect al dente noodles (my fav).

This unsuspecting restaurant set the bar HIGH for the rest of our trip around Italy and we never found a spot as good as Rosy e Gabriele.

Thank you for welcoming us so late in the night and treating us as if you’ve known us for years.

My family and I had two dinners at Rosy e Gabriele, two nights in a row. We were there the first night because our daughter's ridiculous metabolism required a meal, even though the rest of us really weren't very hungry. Despite our somewhat meager dinner order, we were treated like customers who dine at the restaurant several nights a week. The staff was so welcoming, so helpful with recommendations for dishes and wine, and so willing to accommodate our requests, that we felt totally at ease. After tasting the food, we immediately made reservations for the next night, intending to arrive with bigger appetites. A train delay made us late for our reservation, but despite that, our promised table was ready and we were again welcomed warmly. The second night's meal was even more enjoyable than the first. I don't know when I'll get back to Milan but, when I do, I know that I'll be coming back to Rosy e Gabriele for a meal...or several. The menu is extensive with selections including numerous pizzas (baked in the wood-fired oven) a wide range of pasta dishes, and a variety of seafood offerings. The best place on the map of Milan to eat authentic Italian food. If you want to feel that special Italian atmosphere- to feel at home, surrounded by family warmth, where each person feels special as well as at home- as if you were at your mother's/grandmother's kitchen, where you are full of food love waiting for you. This is the place. Where you will be hosted and made to feel like a member of the family. Food phenomenal!!! Everything taken care of down to the smallest detail, including the baking of the fish, or the shape of the salt on the starters. The pastas still dream at night- perfectly cooked, in delicious sauces, seafood or meat. Service- you feel like you've known them for years, have just closed the door and have just gone home again. 100/10 in every respect
