IF I COULD GIVE THEM NO STARS I WOULD! The bartender was so incredibly rude to my boyfriend and I. We were visiting from Canada and wanted to go to the best bar in Navigli area. After doing some research Backdoor was supposed to be really good according to reviews but we were EXTREMELY dissapointed. We walked up to the window and tried talking to the bartender since we didnt know how it worked. He looked at us twice and ignored us for a few minutes. We were confused and assumed we could just walk right in. Since we were getting rudely ignored and judgy looks we tried opening the door and thats when they yelled us and suddenly decided to tell us that theyre "fully reserved"v or "full"?. Uh when since do you have to make reservations to sit at a bar. Anyway dont spend your money here as a tourist, there are plenty more scummy bars to find. Also this experience just added more fuel to the fire since Im already black AND a foreign canadian tourist it made me very sad to be treated that way at an establishment that wanted to exclude me. gross! if youre not italian or if youre a tourist dont expect...
Read moreAtmosphere: 8/10 Backdoor 43 is one of Milan’s most unusual concepts. You get your own private room for an hour, with full control over the music and a setup that feels like a tiny living room surrounded by whiskey bottles. The intimacy can be a bit awkward for introverts since the bartender is part of your experience the entire time, so the usual social energy of a bar isn’t really present. The whole room functions as the backbar, and seating is fully private. Located along the canal next to MAG Café, the setting outside is vibrant and lively.
Drinks: 8/10 Recommendation: BananaVardier The menu is very creative in design with a broad selection. Drinks are good in flavor and balance. Presentation is basic overall, with average glassware, simple garnishes, and straightforward ice. Coasters are nice.
Service: 9/10 Service is essentially one-to-one with your personal bartender, making it extremely attentive. Water is provided on arrival. The bartender is both professional and very friendly. Reservations are mandatory, and...
Read moreIf you complain and give a one-star review, then probably the problem is within you. The smallest whisky cocktail bar in the world, if you are incapable of understanding this and come without a reservation, just go find another place. You need to grow up and stop acting like a spoiled brat in order to sit down here.
The bar: really cozy, nice music, comfortable and despite the size it has everything for your hospitality.
The bartender: friendly, listens to your wishes, very professional.
Big plus point for the wide range of whiskies!
Food: small portions just to munch something, good selection, but you dont go to a cocktailbar for the food!
The cocktails: are far the best i had so far. This is not your casual negroni or margaritha cocktail place, you get presonalized drinks, customized based on your wishes, tastes, dreams. The bartender understood perfectly our thoughts, and created what he thought was the best. 10/10, an hour passes by like it was 15 mins. Thank you for the experience, definitely a...
