BAD SERVICE, FOOD OK. On a rainy night in Milano we enter the restaurant asking for a table for 2... the waitress refuses to seat us because there are no 2 seaters available... there are plenty of tables open, but she doesn't want to separate them to accommodate our party of 2. We refuse to leave, so she finally gives in but we're sitting under an a/c vent that blows cold air on our soaked clothing! When I order a basic Bufala pizza (mozzarella, tomato sauce and fresh basil) I ask for the supplement "verdura" expecting some arugula leafs on top, but when the pizza arrives it has zucchini, eggplant... and to my surprise potato puree dollops! I'm cold, I'm hungry, so I just keep it, and eat it. The pizza is good, dough is thin and tasty, I eat it after removing the mashed potatoes. The side salad we've ordered is straight out of a bag, tasteless iceberg with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. They don't bring olive oil, salt or pepper! Dessert is Gelato, served without spoon! It's supposed to have soft caramel and almond brittle.... came without caramel. Finally I'm going to pay at the cashier check out, she doesn't show me the details of my order, until after I paid... surprise, surprise! I got charged 3 times for the verdura (was never explained that I actually had a choice of vegetable). The service is deplorable, never checked in with us during the meal, and cooks come in and out of the kitchen constantly to talk with the waiting staff, shake hands with friends in the dining room, rearrange their hair, shirt, etc., then get back into the kitchen without washing their hands, or putting on...
Read moreThe pizza here is good. That's not necessarily a compliment because most craft pizza in Italy is great or better. For the Americans reading, their pizza is reminiscent of Cici's Pizza cheese and sauce but with a way better crust. The diavola was better than the mahgerita but still didn't live up to other nearby pizzas. Note that staff won't let you drink your own water. Other than Michelin restaurants, this was literally the only restaurant in Italy that had a problem with bringing in water - that's after literal months of time in Italy from Sicily to Lombardy. It came across very poorly as nickel and diming by charging you for water. We just stepped outside to drink and came back in. Prices are reasonable but you can do better. It tasted good in an American way, not an...
Read moreWe ate here twice during our stay in Milano. We were there visiting the Monza F1 race as well as celebrating our anniversary. The food is great but there service is absolutely horrendous! They never come to ask if you want another glass of wine and each time we wanted to order desert and because no one ever came I just paid and left. The head/lead hostess or manager is the worst I’ve ever experienced and should never have a customer facing job. She seemed unhappy and bothered any time we or anyone asked her anything. I made it a point to steer clear of this place during the remainder of my stay which was unfortunate because the food was good. If any restaurant ever needed a Gordon Ramsey makeover it’s this place. Avoid...
