Great cocktail menu, nice elegant ambience but quite a few negatives.. went for a date night, my date's cocktail was very poorly executed (too much, if not only, alcohol), the waiter spilled quite a bit of it on the lady's legs and shoes.. when we mentioned the bad taste and alcohol they did not bother to even taste it (the barman never came to respond).. my armchair literally broke out of the blue and I fell to the ground in front of all the place (some screw was not well fixed apparently?).. finally, I asked for the bill, the waiter then came and announced the amount loudly (ruining a gentlemen code) and, to top it all, when we had left and walking on the street leaving, another waiter came running behind us to ask me why I didn't pay (of course I had paid, just to another person and by card)! Both comical and embarrassing experience.. in a normal night without incidents, it would have been 5 stars, but not even a nice gesture after quite many fails from the staff and the bar, for a place curated from a famous chef.. far below...
Read moreEDM music thumping while I eat is NOT what I call a good time. Some of the staff seemed more concerned with impressing the chef than taking care of the customer. Uppitty and pretentious. Overpriced overvalued and underwhelmed. The casoncelli was rather nice but the portion compared to the 5 tomatoes spaghetti (under flavored) was poor. The apple tarte tartin appeared to be a fusion experiment which failed. Crisp crust on bottom with what appeared to be apples cooked in a pot placed on top. The chef needs to spend more time dining out and in his own kitchen than talking to his rich friends in suits.
€109 for Two people. One beverage. Two small plates. One dessert. Two coffees and water. Plus multiple mosquitoes biting my ankles. Not worth the money.
Take a look at other reviews: others state the 5 tomatoes dish is over sauces with a poor ratio of pasta to sauce. Pasta had no flavor either. So glad we didn’t get...
Read moreWe came for wine and dinner. The ambiente of Bulk is rather the one of a hotel lobby than a proper restaurant. The smell of the open kitchen filled the room in an unpleasant way after a while and the fire alarm which went off three times during an hour was very disturbing. The staff was inattentive, bringing the food before the cuttlery. I ordered a starter and main course, my wife just a main course. She wasn't asked when to bring it and we were surprised when her main dish was delivered with my starter. The octopus she had was way too chewy and partly burned. My steak was ok but the sauce Hollandaise which came with it already had a milk skin. My gazpacho and our wine was fine though. Regarding the prices neither the food nor the ambiente was worth the money after all. We had several meals in Milano in the same price category that were a real delight, this one...
