I regret to express my profound disappointment with my experience at Restaurant Cacio E Pepe in Milan. Rarely have I encountered so many negative aspects in a single dining experience.
Firstly, the shockingly diminished portions we received were evidently a consequence of our status as tourists. Comparing our plates to those served to locals was a downright embarrassment. It is deeply unfair to be treated in such a manner, especially when one is a guest in a city.
The next element that transformed our meal into an unpleasant affair was the discourteous staff. The servers not only seemed disinterested in our presence but also removed our plates while some of us were still eating. There was no sign of a smile, and it felt as though they were eager to rush through our experience.
Furthermore, the blatant intrusion by the waitstaff was highly unsettling. They persistently attempted to take our orders, even when we weren't ready, and leaned so far over the table that they bumped into us.
The outright insolence from the manager was another low point in our visit. Our attempts to voice our concerns were met with refusal to listen and a dismissive attitude. This lack of customer care is unacceptable and leaves a lasting negative impression.
Although the food was good, it is important to note that comparable quality can be found at more reasonable prices in establishments of a higher caliber. To add insult to injury, we were seated right by the door on a cold November day, leaving us shivering throughout the meal.
In conclusion, my experience at Cacio E Pepe was marred by unsatisfactory portions, rude staff, an inconsiderate manager, and an uncomfortable dining environment. I would strongly advise against patronizing this...

My experience at Cacio e Pepe was dreadful. Despite it being my birthday, our celebration at this highly recommended place quickly turned sour. We were seated by a drafty door, given only 5 minutes to hurriedly choose from a pressured waiter. The dishes arrived, shockingly miniature and left us still hungry. Discovering locals had double the portion size, we confronted the staff who admitted to discriminating against us as tourists, offering lies and rude behavior. Prices were double, portions were halved, and the service was the worst I've ever encountered. We were even charged a 3 euro service fee for nonexistent service. I strongly advise everyone to dine elsewhere in Milan for an authentic and satisfying experience. Cacio e Pepe falls short, and I'll never set foot there again, nor recommend it to others. A terrible 25th...
Read moreWe had a fantastic back to back lunch and dinner at Cacio & Pepe Bottega Romana.
We ordered on our 1st lunch: Cacio e Pepe Carbonara (basic) Artichoke
On our 2nd day, we came back for dinner because it was really good. Ordered again Cacio e Pepe - part of our group I had the Carbonara Tartufu (super good) Others had Guanciale appetizers we had: fried anchovies, pulpo salad also had table red wine which was not acidic at all
Service is impeccable. Our server was so entertaining and friendly. He knew we were all tourists so he cracked up some jokes.
Over-all, good resto. price point plus serving size is great.
Tip: RESERVE in advance. They are usually full around 15-20 mins when they open both for...
